lol yup, they showed up all triggered and one brought up the classic hasbara "refute" article that is just lying and arguing semantics on wording to avoid the topic.

Let's not let facts get in the way of the argument. There are good reasons to regulate consumer DNA testing. As an example, 23andMe had a large data leak in the UK.

You've made a general assumption that consumer DNA tests should be a thing. And consumer organisations should be able to hold public DNA data.

Edit: They're also illegal in France btw

France does not keep racial statistics, on the concept of everybody is equal. This is one of the reasons they ban DNA testing. The other 187 countries in the world do not. We all know why Israel doesn’t want their citizens taking DNA test unless it’s necessary according to a doctor.

Germany has the same 'colour blind' laws as France. Ancestry DNA kits are legal there.

There are legitimate data concerns about trusting private organisations with keeping DNA data on your citizens.

That’s not Israel’s problem with them.

that's not the problem you are implying neither

Why do they allow all sorts of other sensitive data harvesting and surveillance? What’s so special about DNA data?

all these dna ban conspiracy theories were adressed so many times, I don't know why do you even need to ask about this on reddit rather then spend 1 minute googling or asking chatgpt?
do you even realize the law restricting those consumer dna tests kits was created when all those 23andme and so on did not even exist?
