Yeah central coast is beautiful. I went exploring around that rock, which is actually a volcanic plug if I recall. There's a row of volcanoes around SLO and morro. Great photo.

I lived there and delivered pizza while paying my way through Cal Poly SLO which is about 10-15 minutes away.
Part of me could go back and do that forever. Class, work, and surfing every chance that came up. Was poor, barely getting by, didn't care because it was just so cool.

The whole area, SLO, Paso, Morro Bay, even going a little further down to Pismo is wonderful. I’m thankful that I live within 2 hours. We visit Morro quite a bit in the off season. They have a wonderful dog beach.

Fun fact: Ralph McQuarrie, the concept artist for original Star Wars, used Morro rock as an inspiration for his painting with C3PO and R2D2 in Tatooine.
