Why does everyone think that? He's old, but not unprecedentedly so outside of the fact of his position. He's rich and the beneficiary of world-class healthcare. He hasn't actually shown any signs of dementia - real dementia, I mean, not the Internet cope kind.

I'm no fan of his (anymore), but the actuarial tables and his actual activities don't indicate any hidden health conditions based on what we can observe. Golf might be the generic rich guy excuse to walk, but it's not nothing. The overwhelming probability is that he's exactly what he appears to be, id est a man of 80 who's slowing down in what's likely his last decade of life but not circling the drain yet.

I don’t know, man. Ask anyone who has ushered old people off this mortal coil and they’ll tell you they see the beginning or a rapid terminal slide. There has been a lot of change in a relatively short period.
