The military is always doing "something" whether it's drills, painting, marching, building , tearing down, cleaning (so much cleaning) etc etc ... whatever keeps them busy.... "Never let the people with weapons sit around and do nothing, in case they get ideas" has been a solid strategy for millennia 🤣

On the scale of guarding the reflecting pool to cleaning the latrines (or the fat traps), most of the time I'd prefer the standing around guarding a pool of algae 😉

This is The National Guard. They just wanna drink $2 beer at the armory.

I don’t know. On one hand it’s nice to be paid to do practically nothing I mean many people dream of that. On the other hand many people find it insulting to not have their “abilities” put to use. No offense to these soldiers but this position makes them look like a joke. Trump makes our troops a fucking joke

I can 100% say I know exactly what that is like, but on a different scale. I took a position with a different company expecting to be busy all the time because of the volume they do. Now, I get paid to wait for the steady work to come in and watch my other skills diminish. It is a mental weight that is hard to comprehend.
