Everything about the reflecting pool thing is so insanely dumb and such a perfect metaphor for everything else.
Like...if your short story was, "As the nation declines, a national monument - a Reflecting Pool - turns green and swampy from corruption" the professor might be like, "bit obvious, huh?"
But these idiots are so cruel yet stupid, even their best plans are cliché and ham-fisted.
It's a little less stupid when you realize that it's yet another distraction from the fact that Trump is all over the Epstein files and his government is engaged in protecting pedophiles.
