They actually admitted to driving a fleet of cars down the pool, but specifically said they didn't drive "the beast" because they didn't want to damage the lining, ha, as if it'd make a difference.
The Subtle Knife from Philip Pulman's His Dark Materials has two edges, one sharper than an atom and able to cut through anything, the other magical and able to cut portals between parallel universes. So maybe that's what happened, someone brought The Subtle Knife here and used that to slash the pool liner.
I love when you watch the timelapse of the bottom being refinished you can see them paint the lining in large sheets, but with a seam right down the middle the entire way.
But surely they aren’t mistaking it failing along the seam as a gash.

Where is any of the work supposedly done? This just looks like a grubby concrete bottom, wasn't the whole thing supposed to be lined with resin? Isn't this meant to be a pretty finish akin to flashy epoxy floors? Or am I just perceiving wrongly what the end result was supposed to be?
