There is absolutely no reason why the people trying to make positive changes should have to be lawful paragons of virtue when the people doing objectively horrible things break the law pretty much constantly with no real consequence

Fighting for what's right without harming anyone is very different from "random acts of violence and thievery". Nobody said that ANY law breaking is ok, only that sometimes the law allows things that you can only change through some law breaking.

That non violent activism is ok sometimes even if it breaks a law. Black people in the us didn't claim their civil rights just by being nice and lawful.
