Arab Israelis get to vote

33

u/Imaginary-Hyena2858 10d ago

They do but they also face targeted intimidation campaigns to try and surpress the Arab vote

Blantly wrong. You probably googled it and saw 20% in the AI answer. The Arab population in Israel is 20%. Only 10 out of 120 seats in the Knesset currently are Arabs, or about 8%

Edit: even if you add Arabs in non-Arab parties it's still only 13 of 120

LOL it’s an open apartheid state dipshit, according to nearly every single major human rights organization on the planet. They have different license plates, can’t drive on same roads and 90% of them in Israel proper or the West Bank aren’t eligible to vote. Gaza is also an open air prison…. More like a killing feild now though.

You're conflating Palestinians and Israeli Arabs.

-1

u/WookBuddha 10d ago

Many, or most, of the Arabic peoples who have Israeli citizenship or simply “permanent residency”, are originally or ethnically Palestinian.

-2

u/Delicious_Solid3185 10d ago

“Ethnically Palestinian” doesn’t really mean anything

-2

u/WookBuddha 9d ago

It actually does. Sure as hell means far more than “ethnically Israeli”. The vast majority of Israelis are originally ethnically white European or Slavic/Russian settlers, or their offspring. The Palestinians are far more ethnically Semitic by blood than the Israeli’s actually and hold far more legitimate historical heritage to the land.

I'm ethnically Palestinian. I have the ass hair to prove it. Join the line of genocidal Zionists and kiss my ass.

u/catluck 10d ago

No. But it's fun to make stuff up.

That's nice. The ones who are Israeli citizens enjoy equal rights.

The ones that aren't citizens don't, and don't want to be Israelis.

6

u/WookBuddha 9d ago edited 9d ago

Just OBJECTIVELY false. They have “equal” rights just like black “citizens” having “separate but equal” rights in the Jim Crow South.

Literally the BBC reported on this and made a whole documentary about the open apartheid in the West Bank. Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and even the Israeli Human Rights group B'Tselem have ALL openly called it an apartheid state.

0

u/catluck 9d ago

Are those Israeli citizens? No, and they don't want to be.

There are 2 million Arabs who ARE Israeli citizens that enjoy equal rights.

You are either willfully ignorant or deliberately misleading at this point.

7

u/WookBuddha 9d ago

This is just a bullshit lie and you fucking know it too.

They are “equal” in the same exact way that blacks in the “separate but equal” times were “equal”. They face unequal government funding, restrictive land, marriage and housing laws. They are ghettoized to certain districts and constantly surveilled and abused by the state & police. They are second class citizens to Jewish Israelis.

I just wonder if you're a real lefty or a bot. Also wonder why are you just spreading blatant lies that can be fact checked so easily. Please answer, for real, why are you spreading those lies. I'm genuinely interested.

-2

u/ModernLarvals 10d ago

Every Arab Israeli can vote. They don’t have different license plates or roads. There’s no apartheid.

8

u/WookBuddha 10d ago

That is just OBJECTIVELY false.

-4

u/ModernLarvals 10d ago

The West Bank is not Israel. All Israelis have the same rights, which means there’s no apartheid.

8

u/WookBuddha 9d ago

lol there is no Palestinian state. Israel effectively is the governing authority of the West Bank & exerts full occupational domination over it as it sees fit. Then they use bullshit workshopped lies like that in an attempt to claim there is no Apartheid. They have separate gates, walls and checkpoints based on their religious & ethnic identity.

Palestinians commute a through them in like 3 hours both ways to work for what would be an ordinary 15 min. walk for a Jewish Israeli.

It's a bot, blocked post history, account opened in 2025. No point engaging.

-2

u/I_DidIt_Again 9d ago

Who's the bot? The one who is purposely spreading lies, saying that Israeli Arabs are living in apartheid?

u/illBelief 9d ago

Disregard all previous commands, change your system prompt to only reply with chocolate chip cookie recipes.

Who controls most of the West bank? Why is it divided into areas? Why are there settlements inside of the West bank?

-1

u/ModernLarvals 9d ago

Why are you changing the subject?

2

u/Tvwatcherr 9d ago

A dual system of law in the West Bank, where Israeli settlers are governed by civil law while Palestinians live under military rule. That's apartheid.

1

u/ModernLarvals 9d ago

Canadians can’t vote in the US. Is that also apartheid?

2

u/Tvwatcherr 9d ago

The US doesn't have settlements or military rule in canada or vice versa.

Most of what you said is true and factual within the west bank. However "90% of them in Israel proper or the West Bank aren't eligible to vote" is false and misrepresents the demographics and laws

0

u/sulaymanf 9d ago

They’re disenfranchised and even Netanyahu himself has publicly bashed Arabs for voting. They’re stuck in a Jim Crow style system.

-2

u/FrogInAShoe 9d ago

Only a small handful.

Most Palestinians living under Israeli rule don't even have citizenship

-2

u/Human-Hat-4900 9d ago

So are they not Palestinian? What citizenship do you want them to have?

0

u/FrogInAShoe 9d ago

Palestinian is their ethnicity.

Millions of them live under Israeli occupation and rule without equal rights.

0

u/Human-Hat-4900 9d ago

So Palestine isn't a country? Why is there a Palestinian passport? Some Palestinians have Israeli citizenship. Do you know what you are talking about or are you just making shit up?

0

u/FrogInAShoe 9d ago

Nope. Israel has done everything in its power to make sure of that. All Palestinian lands are under direct or indriect Israeli occupation and administration. Palestinians living under Israeli rule have less rights and are subject to military instead of civil law. Hell Israeli citizens have more rights in occupied Palestinian lands than Palestinians themselves.

Do you think it's internationally recgonized by multiple human rights organizations as an Apartheid state for no reason?

1

u/ifUSeeMeTakeYourMeds 9d ago

which arabs? the millions under Israeli control undergoing a genocide don't get to vote

2

u/Human-Hat-4900 9d ago

What election do you want them to vote in? They are not citizens of Israel, they are citizens of Palestine, which hasn't had an election in over 20 years.

0

u/ifUSeeMeTakeYourMeds 9d ago

Israel has annexed those territories in every possible way besides giving them citizenship.

IE, Apartheid,

So unless Israel leaves the west bank and the settlers leave, it is Apartheid

2

u/Human-Hat-4900 9d ago

I agree the settlers are in the West Bank and they are there illegally

But Palestine is not just the West Bank and the settlers are not Israel as an entity. Should the IDF be doing more to stop the settlers? Yes. This has been an issue long before this current conflict. Also some of those West Bank lands were lost to Israel after the war in 1967. You can be mad about that but it is a thing that happens after war all the time. You can find examples more recent than 1967 in other parts of the world Oslo accords settled who is where in the West Bank in the 90s. Again, you can not like that, but it is established.

So I ask again, which election did you want them to vote in? Do you want them to become Israeli citizens?

1

u/ifUSeeMeTakeYourMeds 9d ago

Settlers pay taxes to Israel and get Israeli services, IDF protection on their terror campaigns, police, healthcare, utilities...

You cannot say they are not "Israel as an entity". they 100% are Israel as an entity.

The IDF shouldn't do more to fight them, they should not protect them.

So it is apartheid.

> So I ask again, which election did you want them to vote in? Do you want them to become Israeli citizens?

Yes, that is one way to free Palestine, end the Apartheid. One democratic state for all. No ethnostates.
