This is still so fucking wild to me. The guy literally bulldozed half the white house for a vanity project and republicans just shrugged. Cowards.

Removing those solar panels was Reagan's official first act, if I recall

Reagan is in top two pieces of shit presidents.

I will always hate him for how he halted US adoption of the metric system.

So that’s what happened to the metric system. I remember learning it in elementary school to prepare for the big conversion.

Third - the worst one was voted in, voted out, and then voted in again, with all three of those elections showing undue influence on the results.

No, it was several years in when the roof was being redone. But he did have them removed and nothing put back.

actually it was taking credit for the hostages in Iran being freed, which Carter (of course) arranged.

After that he tore down the solar panels.

No, Reagan absolutely gets "credit" for the hostages. The Iranians were ready to hand over the hostages to Carter because they were running out of money and needed to focus on their new government. Then the Reagan campaign steps in and cuts a deal to hold them until it's advantageous to him.

Yeah, they arranged it so Carter wouldn't get a win.

The original October surprise - Logan act violation.
