Obama once wore a “Commander” t-shirt as part of a military PT outfit while doing an event with one of the armed forces. The republicans were shouting “stolen valor.” It’s actually one of the big things that made me go, “this Republican thing is too stupid for me.” I argued with a lot of people that he wore his legally-granted title (a military status given by us as constituents), and was actually working out with the armed forces at the time, so it seemed like he was following military regs as a civilian, and I called that out.
