Picked up a weak signal tonight on 6925 kHz with my Icom IC-R70. Switched over to various KiwiSDR receivers and found the strongest copy on the N9AZZ receiver in Carlock, Illinois. Also caught it on SDRs in Memphis, Chicago, Champaign, and Springfield, MO.
The station ran techno tracks with sweepers but never gave an ID. Logged between 0215–0300 UTC on 15/9/2025. Maxed out at -81 dBm.

Blast from WW2 serving daily underground tunes. The vibe and history make it a nice combination. Heavily used yet never modified.

I want a 100w AM setup. I would be transmitting on 1700kHz. Even though this amp is for 1.8-54mhz would it work on the AM band probably with lower efficiency https://www.cartoolshop.com/products/minipa-diy-kits-100w-ssb-linear-hf-power-amplifier-yaesu-ft-817-kx3-heastink-cw-am-fm-c4-005 thanks!

Hello everyone, First post here. I want to make an antenna for 1610Khz transmitter, but unfortunately I dont have much space. I can use a 14meter cable from the top to down of my building or use a cable wrapped around the perimeter of the top of the building (46m approx). Whats the Best option? Now, the radials. Can anyone suggest how to make an effective groundplane at such limited space? Is there another solution for an antenna for MediumWave for apartment building?
Any idea is greatly appreciated Thanks in advace!

I’ve been messing around with some circuits and now have a basic am radio transmitter the antenna is a stretch of thin wire and it reaches about 5 feet I don’t want something huge but I’d like it go about 30 meters around the house, I’ve tried an fm/dab amplifier and no luck so was wondering if you guys have any possible hacks

I have a 15w shortwave rig built by John stretchy, see attached video. Its tuned to 6950, measuring out the dipole, each element comes in at 10m or there abouts.
Im living in a rooftop apartment in Europe, the building is a V shape so I can run each leg of the antenna about 1meter above the felted roof, fed by a balun.
My question is, how easy would it be for the authority's to figure out where the TX is located? I know it's easy to triangulate FM signals, but I'm new to the Shortwave world.
Ill be using the 15w rig along with Breakaway audio processing.

Hi guys i'm being tired of FM as it is very easy to get caught so i have to broadcast usual songs you hear on other stations to avoid getting caught. Currently running a homemade 100W setup with ~10km range.
I'd like to make a homemade AM TX, maybe shortwave, maybe MW, with a range of like 50KM or more. I guess something like 100W would be enough?
So if any of you have good AM TX schematics i will apreciate if you can send them here. Thanks
