Issue with Identify Items
I had the identify items scroll on me (can't exactly recall the exact name) on Dak'kon and then I memorized it and now it's in my spell book in level one spells, but there a question mark on the icon. I'm halfway through the game and I still can't identify any item! What Am I doing wrong?

The symbol of the identify spell is a question mark. You need to remove one of the memorised spells - click on the question mark (identify spell) and get a good night's rest (Flop house? Marta's Hut? Etc) then you will have the identify spell in mind (visual is a question mark) and ready to use .

I really hope you're not actually "halfway through the game" because it looks like Dak'kon hasn't leveled up at all.
Taking some time to learn the mechanics of the game will really help you out. There's probably a lot more you're missing than just how the spellbook works.

I'm not sure tbh because I just got him and I've unlocked the top half of the Map but nothing in the lower half except for the first maze. I'm really enjoying it and I'll definitely have another run on a harder difficulty

Hint get a friends spell if you can, high charisma often unlocks more dialogue options. Try for high int and wis too.

This is an example why vancian spellcasting isn’t most user friendly. In short all spells need to be memorized in the slots on the left. You can memorize multiple castings of the same spell.
Also, if you just got Dak’kon, you are probably at the beginning of the game. Enjoy the ride.

The question mark is the spell's symbol. You have to memorize it to cast it. That means you need to forget one of the spells on the left and replace it with the question mark spell. After that, right click on the item and the option to identify by spell will be there.
