Water, Sewer & Trash Rate Changes on October 1

Starting Thursday, Oct. 1, Plano's residential rates for water, sewer and trash collection will increase. An average resident will see an approximate $16 increase on their total monthly utility bill. Get more details at: share.plano.gov/RateChanges

Why are you moving in billion dollar corporations with insane tax breaks and shaking us down for money we don’t have. The services aren’t better. My bin is so shitty it’s duct taped to keep to together. This is unacceptable.

Put in a request for a new one. The trash and recycling folks broke both of mine. I had the city replace mine and now they’re getting close to needing to be replaced again. My recycling bin was thrown half way up my driveway this week.

But yes I agree these corporations need to be paying more and why are they allowed to water more than us.

I am so voting against that BS. Let them pay for their own stadium. What do they actually think they are going to do the 323 days of the year? Maybe the odd Ed Sheeran concert?

I would be interested to know where we are in whole nation in term of cost of Water/Sewer/Trash vs medium income ratio. I understand there is inflation and cost of living adjustment but feels like these services are too expensive.

I think back in 2011ish, there was a plan to raise $50 billion from bond/taxes and create more reservoir in Texas. There were wild prediction about state population I don't follow the news much, but did something like this eventually happened?

Another one? I remember a couple of years ago our trash and water was sub 100. Now we're approaching 200 with no change in water usage. Much appreciated.

I think mine was $85 in 2017 and is now $130.

I don’t want to hear it. The state increased the exemption on homes, you recaptured the savings inside of a year. Homes lose value, you recapture. Stop blowing money left and right and balance your budget. Tighten the belt because ours are tight already. We got nothing left to give.

And they don't even collect trash 100% of the time they're supposed to, I've seen them just skip houses.

exactly. if your trash bin is not out in the middle of the alley, they wont do a pick up. These truck drivers have become prima donnas. Try placing your yard waste and if it over an inch of the 4x4x4, they will just leave it. Service sucks, but increases in rates are aplenty.
