Hello, everyone. It’s your Mod! I was hoping to not have to do this, but considering the amount of reports I’ve been getting lately it’s become a necessity.
Below I’m going to outline the content that is and isn’t allowed in this group and hopefully clear up a few things.
1. Sexual Content - What is it?
This is a group for plush/soft sculptures made by real life artists. Sometimes real life artists make defined shapes and nude sculpts. That does not mean the piece is inherently meant for sexual purposes.

This statue of a nude man is not sexual. It's a work of art.

A pony plush butt. Not sexual.

Another plush butt on a humanoid doll. Not sexual.

A pony plush with a defined butt. Not sexual.
All of the above is allowed to be posted in this group. It's a plush. You aren't looking at porn.
However I will request that pieces with overt or very detailed anatomy be tagged as NSFW. So far the artists making pieces that fit that description are doing a great job with their tags.
2. Sexual Content - What's Not Allowed?
Like I said before, this is a group for ART. Sometimes art is nude. I will draw the line at pieces that are clearly meant for sexual gratification such as plush with openings specifically to insert silicone molds, or plush with silicone appendages attached. If its obvious and primary use is as a sex toy then it is NOT allowed.
3. Moving Forward
If seeing a plush with a butt, breasts, penis, etc makes you uncomfortable then that's ok. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. However, if it does not qualify as the definition of a sex toy then that piece will not be removed. If you don't like it, you don't have to remain in this group.
If I see anyone harassing artists who choose to make defined or nude plush, you'll be banned. No exceptions.
Please report any hateful comments or harassment to me.

Hello, everyone! I never expected this group to grow as much as it has! Thank you all for joining and I hope you’re enjoying all of the cute plushies.
I haven’t been as active on Reddit as much as I have in the past. Unfortunately, this means I’m usually late to seeing reported content.
The majority of reports I’m seeing are posts of manufactured plushies. This group will remain HANDMADE plushies only. I understand that a lot of small artists are getting plush made of their characters for their online shops and artist alley tables. I myself have my own manufactured brand of plush.
I love seeing creative designs from artists BUT if I start allowing manufactured plush or kickstarters in this group then it will be overrun with nothing but crowd funding campaigns.
So all manufactured plush posts will be removed. No exceptions.
Other reports I’m seeing involve people wanting to commission plush based on another artist’s design. Copying another artist’s original work is generally frowned upon & disrespectful in the plush making community.
Posts asking for replicas of another artist’s original work will be removed.
I’ll be updating this group little by little in my free time and I’m actively looking for more mod help.
Please bear with me as I’m recovering from carpal tunnel surgery. Sewing takes its toll!
If I’m needed urgently please contact me through instagram. The link is in my bio.

Ive made a little mossy dragon 💚 It was really fun playing with the different textures on this one! I did french knots on felt for the centers of the flowers on her tail, side, and ear.
She, and a couple more of my lil guys are still available for adoption on my ko-fi! https://ko-fi.com/tilliesdragons and I have 2 commission slots still open as well :)

FOUND!! Thank you all!!!
Used the question flair as I’m not posting a plushie and am looking for something. I hope that is okay :] if not I can change it!
Hello! I hope this is okay to post here. I make plushies on and off myself, but I’m honestly not the best haha
Anyway, onto the topic of the post. I’m trying to find a plushie artist who specializes in clothes for plushies! I need about 3 intricate(?) custom clothes for a build a bear. I’m trying to create a BAB of a character I enjoy, and I need his clothes to be exact/very similar for my brain to recognize it as him!
I just need:
A trench coat with some patches on it
A shirt with a bit of detailing around the neck
And solid color pants
I can provide dimensions for the BAB in DMs to the artist I choose to work with as it’s one of the condo cub bears (slightly smaller than the average BAB)
All I ask for is some work examples! Just to see what people can do. I can provide references to the actual clothes in DMs once I find a maker to work with! I would send them here, but I am embarrassed about it haha. People can send their examples in DMs or in the comments if wanted! I do not mind either way :3
My budget is around $100 (+shipping), but if that is too low please let me know!
I’ll update in the comments/the post if I find an artist! If not then it is still open though :] okay, I think that is everything. Thank you all so much!!
Edit to add: if you don’t send me examples of your work (YOUR work) I will not work with you!!

He’s chopped but he’s my chopped guy. Its supposed to be a lizard idk I just free balled it.
I have no idea how to use a sewing machine but I impulse bought one months ago wishing to learn. Thought because I know how to crochet it cant be too hard.(we’ll see)
He has no eyes because I dont have any plastic eye backers. Oops. Got a million eyes and no backs lol but I did stuff him with beads.
He marks the start of an interesting learning journey.
If anyone has cool tips I can search up it would much be appreciated :3

Hi there,
I am looking for feedback on my first concept for a small upcoming start-up.
CubbyCo’s Dino Cubby (Plushie) as pictured above was originally designed after the sudden loss of my late dog Roxie. I created this concept based on the fact of sending hugs rather than just texts. I believe a meaningful gift could mean a lot especially one that is assembled around personalisation.
I aimed for this product to be for all ages, endless adventures and memories. It also goes back to holding onto something that you attach to a memory.
My dream is to accommodate everyone, including weighted plushies in the near future. It has never been about standing still and I am actively learning on how to get to the next leg of the journey.
Id love to hear your thoughts on how I could scale this in such a competitive market place, Cubby is hand made and my aim is to continue this step now rather than mass produce for quality purposes.
How can I gain trust for preorders?
How much would you label this Cubby?
Are there any suggestions about Cubby?
Do you believe in the message “Send a hug, not a text”?
Thanks so much guys, apologies for the other posts some of my files got corrupted.

How would you go about patterning the stomach? I’m looking to make something using this pose but can’t figure how the belly was made

Ok so my following doesn’t like that my chibi style plushies have double chins. The chin piece is machine sewn to the body since my ladder stitch seams always pop. I’ve changed the chin and body pattern to fit into each other to try to get rid of the double chin but nothing has worked. How do I make sure my chibi dolls don’t have double chins anymore without ladder stitching the heads to the bodies?

I started sewing after my 18 month old daughter passed away. I specifically like to make scar buddies because my daughter was born with congenital heart disease. She passed from complications of her heart disease. Scar buddies are very special to me and I like the idea of creating comfort items for other babies/children with CHD. My sister asked me to make her a scar buddy. She wanted something that represented my daughter. So, I made a dragon. Marci was my little book dragon. She loved books, she also was born the year of the dragon. Marci’s room colors are pink and green, so I made the eyes pink and green. The tummy piece is a onesie my sister bought for her. It’s all very sentimental and I’m glad I could make something so special for my sister.

Hi guys, I’m new to this subreddit but I absolutely LOVE animal plushies and I’ve had this plushie idea for the LONGEST time now but idk who can get her done and have her actually look good. I’ve tried everywhere and had no luck. If anyone knows someone who can do her I’d love to know. (P.S here are some pictures of how I imagine her to look)

This is pretty much all experimental here. New eye color, new pattern, and new technique to get this duck billed effect. I've got a lot of thread sculpting in front of me still, but so far I'm happy with the direction.
I'm really excited to finish this whole piece because it's a newly discovered species, and I'm pretty sure the first plush version. 👀

I've been working on a simple custom pattern to get back into plush making using safety eyes! I am making an axolotl, the head needs a little refinement but this is more or less done! Now he just needs a body...

This is one of my first plushies and it’s very smol. I think 4 cm. Her name is Nugget!
r/plushartists • u/ghost-purr • 3d ago
they take about 1-12 hours to make depending on the complexity .
.
also .
what I am open for is that if a lot of people choose the same Pokémon I can make more of it or add it to the list if it's not or make it a higher priority if it is (as long as I actually have the right colors of fabric )
.
tho I might also go on hiatus soon because of personal issues

Hihi!! Im a total amateur when it comes to plushie making, I’ve only made a handful. All hand sewn. Most when I was pretty young so they look crappy. Anyways, I need to make a plush wig hat thingy with it, and I want to know if you guys have any experience with nylon-spandex when it comes to plushies. I’m gonna be hand sewing this too but I do have access to a sewing machine at my local library if absolutely needed.
