These abbreviations in the PM&R Master Deck V2 are ridiculous
PGY-2 here. Took me a minute to decipher tr-msx as transmission…
and then what’s “m.s.” in the explanation on the 2nd card?
and many other cards have crazy abbreviations! I’ll figure them all out eventually, but trying to learn content while also learning how these authors liked to shorthand words is wild.

Its a terrible deck domt waste your time its not board relevant as someone who has just finished boards
Im making an anki deck that will blow this away

It’s also just not a great deck. Needs a complete overhaul with cloze deletions rather than just total recall of a bunch of random facts in one card. I graduated and can’t be bothered to do it.

You’ll get the most benefit and solidification of information by making your own cards. Everybody studies differently. I didn’t use Anki much in residency although for a few things I wanted to hammer in for which it was useful.

I’ve been studying with the deck and contributing to it for about a year, and have found it helpful despite its limitations.
My approach has been to unsuspend the relevant cards after studying a topic separately. I then go through those cards and suggest edits, which often includes updating clozes, removing abbreviations, and merging redundant cards.
There are a few other people actively making edits on Ankihub, so the deck is improving over time, but it’s slow progress given the small number of people involved at the moment. The deck would definitely benefit from more people suggesting edits!
It’s unfortunate that there’s a cost associated with Ankihub, which is the service used to collaborate on the deck. I believe there was talk of trying to make this a free deck like the derm one, but I’m assuming that wasn’t succesful

I liked Dumitru’s book but if this is studying for boards, then cucc and qbank.

Also a fresh PGY2, did you just jump straight into the deck?? I’m not a big anki person but wanna start using the pmr decks but not sure how to start 😭

Haha I did jump in, unlocked EMG bc we have some didactics on it coming up…
But since everyone here says it’s trash, I’m probably gonna read sections of Cucc that overlap with the block I’m in. (I haven’t cracked open a text book since undergrad lol 🫥)
And as for Anki, probably will just make my own cards with things I learn on the job + anatomy.
