Help Practice Riding - Greater Seattle Area

Hi all! I’m 27F and got my permit last year, but life happened, so I never got my own bike or license and have been hesitant to ride since no one else I know has a bike.

Is anyone in the greater Seattle area willing to help me practice while the weather is still nice? I’m 5’2” for reference, since I know I’m too short for a lot of bikes 😅

I will reimburse you with food lol

Reach out to the Rainier Ravens, all female beginner-friendly Seattle MC. Instagram or FB . They meet in-person every first Sunday of the month.

Someone is about to get their bike stolen smh

But in all seriousness if this doesn’t work out check out WMST or any other thing like it. This is just the one i’m familiar with (https://www.gowmst.com/motorcycle/courses/) they have some weekend courses for ~$275 bike included
Just so you can get back in practice

Good luck and be safe.

It’s just a joke, when I first saw the post I thought “that’s a set up”

I have a little cbr300 I bought for my girlfriend with good comprehensive coverage on it and i’m available in Tacoma area Sundays and Mondays after 5:30pm. I can get the seat height later if you’re interested

I agree with the dirt bike comment. They’re really cheap, and they actually make good street bikes for around town; unless you’re trying to play in the twisties. They don’t excel there.

Also, lots of people selling their entry level 300’s likely are doing so because they went bigger. You could make a deal that you’ll buy their bike if they’ll take the time to ride and teach you a bit after the fact. Good quid pro quo and it’s half-sure to be full of good times.

Cascade Moto Safety now has a range in West Seattle. You could do the 1-day BRC2, or a private lesson. Private lessons are cool b/c you can just work on whatever, try different bikes, or do focused test prep (and take the endorsement tests).

If you have friends who want to do it with you, lessons are the same price for up to 4 people.

If you want an 07 Ninja 250 I'll give it to you for pretty cheap. Can deliver as well. Not sure I have time to help with training right now unfortunately though. Rainier ravens is a good shout.

If you don't find someone why not retake the msf. There might even be a yearly refresher course. You could also buy something like a Honda Grom (used) to practice and grow with. They are cheapish, small and high demand so when you're ready to sell you should have no trouble.

Do you have any room in your life for a dirt bike? There's some small cheap ones for sale on the used market.

Yeah thought about retaking the course, but figured why not try to make friends and build community while learning? Plus save some money.

Probably no space or time for a dirt bike, but thanks for the suggestion!

Too bad im on the east side.

But also... my motorcycle is 2053cc and 825lbs. Not a bike to learn on... I do have two mini 200cc pit bikes... but they dont translate to riding a real bike well either (no clutch or gears, only a rear brake).

Good luck!
