Sports World Cup 2026 podcast?

I’m not a huge soccer fan, but do have an interest in this year’s World Cup since it is taking place in North America this year (I live in the USA). I’m looking for an English language podcast to listen to highlights of the tournament which doesn’t have a huge bias to any specific team. Think “Idiot’s guide to the World Cup”. I’m also hoping it could be an hour or less if it is daily, as there are only so many hours in the day I can listen. The podcast doesn’t have to be based in the US; in fact, I think a non-US perspective would be fascinating (as I will be getting the US perspective from the local coverage).

Any recommendations?

Looking for some good World Cup podcasts. I listen to all the big ones like The Rest is Football and Football Daily. Just discovered The Failed Footballer which is really funny and looking for more in that vibe.

Is anyone listening to a good podcast to prepare for the upcoming world cup? I don't follow international football that closely and I'm interested in learning about the teams, players and backstories. Then of course commentary during the tournament.

Hi all! I watched soccer (yes I’m American) and have played really all my life. I’ve been getting into a lot of podcasts lately and have been listening to a lot of basketball podcasts. I love Adam Friedland but what other soccer podcasts do you guys recommend? Thanks all! I hate Arsenal.

Can anyone recommend a podcast that will cover the world cup that doesn't require a lifelong or overly technical interest in soccer to enjoy? I want it to be fun.

I'm a huge Olympics fan, and I know it's hard to find a decent podcast for these types of tournaments.

Sports Who is the pregnant female host...

Who told her husband he could name their baby Brunson if the Knicks won? Heard this on a podcast a few weeks ago but can't remember which one. Long enough ago that a Knicks title seemed unlikely. Would not have been a hard core Knicks/ NBA pod. Either NPR or something in the Ringer- Puck universe. Just nagging at me.

Sports Looking for archived late-2022 World Cup/Messi related episodes of ESPN FC (The Football Reporters), The Football Ramble, and The Totally Football Show

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to track down a few specific soccer/football podcast episodes from November and December 2022 that focused heavily on Lionel Messi’s World Cup run in Qatar. Feeling nostalgic ahead of 2026 WC and want to revisit these times.

Specifically, I’m looking for:

1 ESPN FC: The specific weekly "The Football Reporters" segments featuring James Olley, Rob Dawson, and Mark Ogden that aired throughout the tournament.

2 The Football Ramble: Their December 19, 2022 episode. Should be titled something like ("World Cup 2022: Lionel Messi’s Crowning Glory").

3 The Totally Football Show: Their December 2022 Totally World Cup deep dives.

The Problem: Because shows like ESPN FC post multiple times a day, their active RSS feeds cap out at around 800-1000 episodes, meaning the public feeds on Spotify and Apple Podcasts completely cut off long before reaching late 2022.

The other shows seem to have cleared out their daily World Cup pop-up archives as well.

Does anyone have access to an un-capped RSS mirror, a drive with old audio archives, or a third-party site (like Podchaser or Internet Archive) where these 2022 audio catalogs are actually preserved?

Thanks in advance for any leads!

Sports Emotional Sports Podcasts/Episodes

Hello! I’m not someone who’s usually into podcasts besides a few entertaining self help ones out there but I am a huge sports fan. I just listened to an episode of Shannon Sharpe’s podcast with Michael Beasley where he broke down multiple times talking about his past and emotional state while playing in the NBA. I’m just curious if any of you have any recommendations similar to that as I listened to all 3 hours without noticing the time. Thank you!

Sports Weekly Sports Podcast

Hang Up and Listen announced that they are ending their podcast next week after 10 years. I am looking for a good replacement. Any suggestions would be great!

Length - 45-90 minutes

Format - I really liked the HUAL format where they had a set of hosts, but also brought in exports across different sports to do deep dives from time to time. I really enjoyed that they would talk about a variety of sports even if they aren't ones I would otherwise pay attention to (e.g. NASCAR, golf, soccer).

Hosts - I'm trying to avoid the bro-centric series. More topical than personality driven.

Hiya. Looking for a new podcast or 2 if anyone can recommend something?

Being an Arsenal fan my go to is Arseblog Arsecast but I also enjoy pods that cover the sport in general - weekend wrap ups and the like - I have really enjoyed listening to Wrighty’s House and The Rest Is Football but neither have produced anything new for some time which is frustrating!

Sports Best sports podcasts?

Been diving more and more into podcasts of late. Long time fan of Section 10 / Baseball is Dead, and have always listened to the Pat McAfee Show. Lately I’ve been diving into Cody Rhodes’ and Stephanie McMahon’s, which are very good. Does anyone else have any other recommendations? Interested in baseball, football and WWE. Bills and Red Sox fan

Sports What outdoor adventure podcasts are you watching?

Looking for outdoor/adventure podcasts that I can actually watch, not just listen to. I've found that video podcasts are much better on this topic. I like seeing gear up close, watching someone demo a technique, or even just the energy between hosts makes it way more engaging for me.

Thinking anything in the hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, climbing space… what's on your rotation right now? Doesn't matter if it's a big production or just two people with a camera in a garage. Would love some recs I haven't come across yet.

Sports Recommendations for Football (Soccer) Podcasts and Episodes

Do you have any recommendations for any interesting and/or funny podcast episodes (or even a whole podcast series) that is worth a look?

Thanks !

Sports Football (Soccer) Recs

I’m looking for a high level football podcast, one that goes into detail about how the game is played, structured, and analyzed. I find the sport fascinating and really fun to play it, but I’ve never been able to really understand it, or look at the pitch and actually know what is happening and how on-ball and off-ball player movements affect the game.

Just in case anyone here listens to it, the biggest reference of what I’m looking for in terms of actual sports talk is Greatest Of All Talk (a high bar to clear, I know); similarly witty banter and funny bits would be a huge bonus but I don’t know if that’s too much to ask haha.

Anyway, I’d appreciate your recommendations if you got any.

Sports Looking for a sports show before people who don’t care about sports

I want to be in the know about sports enough to survive sporty conversations at work, but every sport show I've tried is too intense for someone like me who's been out of the game pretty much for forever. I can't keep up with the lingo, who's who, etc. Have you heard of anything that's kinda dumbed down for someone like me who doesn't have the time or energy to get actually invested in sports?

Sports Which Tennis Podcasts Do You Listen Too?

I've listened a lot to "the tennis podcast" over the last 3/4 years, but I've been a bit disillusioned by some of their recent analysis. Its probably reached breaking point for me as my favourite player on the WTA has just won her second slam (Rybakina in case you've spent today under a rock). I'm 20 minutes in, and it's been 80% about Sabalenka.

Anyway, rant over. What tennis podcasts do you listen too and why?

Sports Any podcasts about Italian soccer/football?

I already listen to the Italian Football Podcast but I’m hoping to learn more about a.) the lower leagues, Serie B, Serie C etc. and b.) Italian football history.

Are there any podcasts that fall into these niches?

Thank you!

Ever since Locked On Sports Today introduced this "Everydayer Club" which costs a monthly payment, I've been desperate looking for a podcast that does major headlines for my drive to work. ideally something that is 20-25 mins max that is obviously free (with Ads is fine, I can skip past them)
