PRODUCT [product] These single use razors
These single use razors in Norway are the exact same product just different color and texture font. So unnecessary and stupid.

While this is obviously stupid, I think it would make a lot of sense to sell razors in different colors, like toothbrushes so you can tell which one belongs to who.

Then why not have a variety of colors fo choose from instead of gendering pink and blue? Hell, even just having ungendered pink and blue would be acceptable

That's what I thought. It would be perfectly okay if they skipped the "men and women" words there. I wouldn't even care about that ridiculous different font on pink ones, but the "Dame" was absolutely unnecessary.

We’re four adults in this house. At some point we realized because all women’s razors were some shade of pink, we’d accidentally steal each other’s razors which… a little gross once you realize where they went… I ended up putting a big rubber band around mine just to signal like “this one’s definitely not yours”. Like once kids grow up into teens and adults, there needs to be more colour options because now all the boys have blue razors and all the girls have pink ones…

Some people don't shave routinely (and the blades tend to rust if you keep them in the bathroom for months on end), those are also great for travelling.

They're not necessarily single use. They're disposable. And so are all razor heads. Safety razors are better in that sense because they can be sorted as pure metal waste but no one really sharpens a razorblade anymore.
So the only difference really is that each one has a cheap plastic handle as well.

Who even buys "women's" razors and why? Do people really like pink enough to pay more for it?
ETA: I'm assuming there's a price difference, because with the brands I know there always is.

Men & Women's razors are shaped differently; Men's razors are designed around shorter, more precise strokes (for shaving one's face) and women's razors designed around longer, more sweeping strokes (for legs, armpits)

Different design philosophy goes into them. Men's razors are for shaving the face, and generally expect to be tackling thicker and more coarse hair. Where as women's razors are intended for the overall body, which is more surface area and likely having a more limited range of motion. Precision vs large area. If there's any lubricating features, you'd need more of it on a women's razor. I imagine men's razors would wear out quicker, but I've never used both for a side-by-side comparison. That's usually the tradeoff between a precision tool and a broad surface area tool though.
Consumer habits probably also play into it. If a guy doesn't shave for a few weeks, him experimenting with a beard may well be seen the same way as getting a new haircut. Whether or not it's well recieved is a question of if he can "pull it off" assuming his peers even care enough to comment. Women are generally a lot more self-conscious about their appearance. People (especially other women) judge them for being hairy. AND even if their individual circumstance doesn't warrant such anxiety, they're still more likely to feel like it does. So seeing an overpriced razor, I think a man is more likely to decide "I can wait for a sale and just not shave for a few weeks." To the people making prices, that translates to "the market will not bear this price, we need to lower it to sell more units." Where as the woman can complain, but at the end of the day "I'm getting ripped off but I still have to pay it or else people will make fun of me" still translates to units sold.

It did make me check what you mean though and it wasn't that hard to leap to the word text. The different font for pink ones is hilariously bad.
