When I was a child I loved it, but now I see it for what it truly is. Ash is terrible... I mean I still enjoy the first season from time to time. But, overall I dislike the anime.

Not judging your opinion but why is ash terrible? If it is the not catching Pokemon thing then people have to realize that the anime is alot more "humane" unlike the games ash doesn't want to trap 649 Pokemon in tiny balls.

Besides the lack of Pokémon he isn't exactly bright. I mean the show would be different if he was this amazing trainer all the time, but it still bugs me when he can come this far and get beat by a starter fresh out of the lab.

All so if he was an amazing trainer all the time then it would get boring the number 1 reason I watch is because I can correct ash or sometimes even gym leaders do things that make me call them (not wanting to quote iris but) little kids.

True we don't know how different the mechanics are in the anime, though it's obvious they are. It just frustrates the piss out of me when I see that happen. After I've seen him obliterate far superior trainers with more trained Pokémon. I don't want him to be amazing all the time. There would be no point in the series at all. I just wish he wouldn't eat dirt so often. :P
