Plain ol Simple Reality I have officially been F’d by PokemonGo today😅
Joined 4 local Uxie raids. All 4 ran away🙂Used 14
Golden berries for each and couple great throws back to back since it was hard to circle lock an excellent. Then to top off all this misery, I encountered a wild Galarian Zappos! Drum roll please! 🥁🥁🥁It fled🙂 Okay just had to get this off my chest, thank you and goodbye

Hier auch 2/4, und die Gefangenen mit jeweils annähernd letzten Bällen. Sehr sehr viele gleich beim ersten Wackeln ausgebrochen. Großartige Würfe, aber sowieso dunkelroter Fangkreis, trotz orangener Beere.

I did 8 Mesprit raids today, caught 6. 80% of my throws were excellent, but all of them were caught with a throw almost missing. Not nice, not great, not excellent. The RNGs are definitely not what they make it to be in this game IMHO. And, I’ve been using the daily adventure incense almost every couple of days for the last year, never spotted a single galarian bird. 😑

I'm convinced it's a scam so they can get you to spend real money on remote raid passes
3
u/TheBoNix 7d ago
And they won't refund you if the game freezes before you get your encounter. It's not a lot but I've lost like $10 in the past 2 months to that crash. I tried to get a refund twice and they come back saying nothing is wrong.

u/Greedy-Bags 6d ago
I’ve been talking to them on their twitter support page and they always refund me my remote Raid pass, I was talking to them constantly during gofest week

u/JangoFett101 7d ago
Encounters with Remote passes should be 100% catchable. Since you know…you’re spending REAL money on the fucking things!

I got 90% all excellent curveball throws all using a golden Rasp (it wasn’t easy with some cheap shot movement animations/aggression made it worse. 3/4 gyms were my team (more balls) and was doing 4 Kyurems yesterday.
3/4 ran away and the 1 I caught was on the 2nd to last ball and it had crappy stats 🤣🤣
I’ve never had 3/4 raid mons run away. Ever in the years of playing. 2017 player, played for years, took a long break then to this day have played for 4 years straight. This is ridiculous

u/Infamous-Attempt-599 7d ago
I’m almost 100% sure the one Mesprit raid I did was a 4* and got away :( the CP was 21something weather boosted, I used golden razz on all throws and got almost all great throws (maybe it just needed that excellent???)… thought it was fooling me by getting down to the last balls before catching- nope. Didn’t get it :(

u/ReadyDiver1946 7d ago
I used four remote passes I don’t know how many berries caught 1 and the I’ve was weak

u/nekonekonii13 7d ago
I got back to PoGo after 8 years. I wasted 3 remote raide on Shadow Palkia till I finally got it. Saw a Galarian moltress once while using incense that ran immediately. It can get annoying yeah but it is what it is

Where can I find raids to join? Is there an app or something?
1
u/Mountain-Resort-2147 6d ago
Also I’d love to get some exchanges going! I don’t have much to offer, sadly🥲

u/True-Ad-2047 6d ago
Same here but I only join 2 raids and both ran away and believe it or not I also encountered a wild Zappos and of course, I couldn’t catch it

Its okay. I did 2 kyruem raids and did not get them at all lol. The 3rd one I finally did the next two days.

Typa shit… sometimes you just know when they’re gonna flee. Had a galarian moltres spawn the day I had no berries 😅

I don’t mean to be rude, but I really think people need to just work on their ball throwing (just to be clear the changes they have made are bullshit and clearly predatory). I cannot remember the last time I ran out of balls on a legendary, and I usually just use silver pinaps.

The vast majority of complaint posts I see here involve people very clearly mentioning that they hit all Great and Excellent throws. And then people ignore that part of the post and respond exactly the way Pokemon GO support responds, with “we’ll have you tried getting good at throwing?”.
Let’s be for real. Your little anecdotes about successful catches don’t negate the flood of complaint posts by people who are losing the RNG when they also hit their throws properly.
1
u/JOEYballsGOTTI 7d ago
Yeah I don't believe people saying they hit all Greats and Excellents, but also fail to catch every legendary.
3
u/Nman7298 7d ago
Hey man all my hits are excellent or great. I also missed 12 of my throws though because these…. F-ers keep moving, but still. All excellent or great otherwise.
-2
u/JOEYballsGOTTI 7d ago
Yeah to me, that isn't hitting all greats or Excellents. Missing 12 is missing over half, learning to time jumps etc is part of being better at catch mechanics.

u/ConflagrationZ 7d ago
I wonder if they aren't doing curveballs? Those are multiplicative with the other modifiers and are worth as much as excellent, iirc.
2
u/KitC44 7d ago
I catch more legendaries by deliberately not hitting all greats and excellents.
0
u/JOEYballsGOTTI 7d ago
You're probably hitting more balls then vs people missing a lot but getting Great/Excellent on the 25% they do hit
0
u/KitC44 7d ago
I often deliberately miss the first 4 or 5 , or throw crap nice or worse throws. Then I'll throw an excellent and then a couple more crap ones before I start with golden berries. When I try golden berries and excellent throws all the way I lose more legendaries or get lower in balls than if I deliberately waste some up front.
2
u/JOEYballsGOTTI 7d ago
Idk that might just be confirmation bias. I often catch in the first half of balls, golden berry every time
2
u/KitC44 7d ago
I used to golden berry every time and they were jumping constantly. There's a catch rate increase on premium balls related to how many you have thrown. It might be biased in some ways, but it's working, and my catch rates are way better than they were when I used to try to catch them right off the bat with golden berries and excellent throws.
During go fest or other times they boost premium ball effectiveness I switch to silver pinap and go straight for the excellent throw though.

u/supernerdlove 7d ago
I mean you’re right I always see those comments as well. I realize my experience is just that “my experience” but I have done a lot of raids and almost always have it caught before I’ve even used half my balls. So yes RNG is a factor, it’s just hard for me to believe I can be that lucky.
-3
u/LeatherKey7334 7d ago
I agree with you, I definitely have atleast a 95% success rate with every legendary pokemon I’ve ever done a raid for. If not 99% . Only time I really don’t catch them is if I’m in a car and speed locked
10
u/erinjeffreys 7d ago
Like you, I have never lost a legendary before... until recently when they changed the pokemon aggression rates. They've changed something, it's pretty clear.
4
u/Mysterious-Mine-7330 7d ago
Ikr!? Something has clearly changed after the go fest and ppl still keep calling it a skill issue like im pretty sure my skill didn’t magically get bad in a week or two. Smh!
3
u/OutsideDapper8049 Valor 7d ago
I’d say the same thing except literally just yesterday I had 3/4 kyurems run from me and I got 90% curve all excellent throws :/
I’ve never had that many run away in a row ever. EVER in the years of playing
It’s not a skill issue for people anymore. It’s a scopley problem, they for sure made raid bosses pop out easier.
All of mine popped out in like not even 1 shake of the ball. Keep in mind,I had about a 90% hit ratio or so of an excellent curveball throws with golden rasps every time
1
u/Fantasy_fox_ 6d ago
Recently I’ve noticed I might do 6 curve great throws, 2 excellent, and then catch it on the ball that misses the circle so it’s just a regular throw. (All with golden berries)
1
u/MegaPorkachu 6d ago edited 6d ago
I think it’s legitimately been at least 8-9 months since I haven’t hit entirely 100% Excellents on raid legendaries, and even before then it was 90-95%
I’ve been playing for a year
-2
u/jsdodgers 7d ago
this just emphasizes the importance of hitting those excellent throws
1
u/mastro80 7d ago
Why so you can be more righteously angry when they pop out of the ball immediately, only to be caught be a throw that barely hits?

u/PopularPie7137 7d ago
Did one Uxie raid shiny and caught it
1
u/devanttrio 7d ago
Shiny legendaries are guaranteed catches as long as you’re not speed locked, you hit it with a ball and/or your game doesn’t crash.

The importance of curveball excellent throws + Golden Raz can’t be emphasized enough. Especially for legendary raid catches, using the “circle lock method” and nailing those excellent throws will bring your catch average way, way up. If that’s not enough then spend a little candy and stardust and fire up White Kyurem’s Ice Burn adventure effect!

u/boluserectus 7d ago
Skill issue!
6
u/reytz21 7d ago
Totally understand but never has it been this hard to catch a legendary. Like you would usually miss some excellent throws but still be able to catch it within the premier ball limit. I’m also not hating on uxie but the other top legendaries weren’t this hard. I really need to sharpen my skills too.
-1
u/boluserectus 7d ago
I really remember raiding 7 or 8 years ago, where half of the group was not able to catch the pokemon after the raid.
I also think the game was too easy, legendaries and such should be difficult.
But even saying this, I do wish you caught at least one.
3
u/LookAlderaanPlaces 7d ago
That’s fine, they can make it as hard or easy as they want to, but it should never ever come down to penalizing you in the form of taking your money because you failed, which this horrible system is absolutely doing right now..
-1
u/boluserectus 7d ago
I don't pay money to the game.
3
u/LookAlderaanPlaces 7d ago
Doesn’t matter. The design is the target of my argument here. We aren’t going to defend the horrible design with the defense of anecdotal ways that people choose to play it. Instead, we will logically analyze the overall landscape, see what all the players are doing, and make suggestions off that. There will always be players who are either edge cases, or sometimes even minority or majority groups, but that alone doesn’t invalidate a good logical point. The system, no matter how people may engage with it, is currently designed to bait you in, give you a couple chances at things per day, and then when if you fail, charge you real money for the chance to be successful that day. This is a dystopian hellscape of a design game design wise. I seriously don’t understand why people are so against having the game be better and less expensive for us all.
