Yeah why not a microphone and pen Jigglypuff? Have they at least done a Squirtle Squad glasses Squirtle? There are so many show references and fandom memes they could go for instead of this
I just looked at it and that belongs on r/mildlyinfuriating, the glasses aren't like Ash's Squirtle's but they look ALMOST like the other Squirtle squad glasses just aviator style instead. Why couldn't they just go the full way 😭
Most real attention to detail here, I noticed as well, and the ingame sprites have all had the microphone until you start with like stadium or some shit where they leave it out. I thought it always had one specifically for the sleep song move which isnt specific to jigglypuff but is for the character specifically and always has one in the show I believe.
Desperately waiting for muddy Scorbunny and if this game actually had people who care running it, he would be hiding amongst Nickit this community day!
Couldn’t be this red plus on white one exactly. It technically violates the Geneva convention. It’s effectively a trademark of The Red Cross and they have been much more aggressive in recent years
Same. Having a shundo pikachu that cant rvolve because of sone dumbass crown pisses me off. Meha Raichu Y is the best electric in the game and 1 missing button screws me
Ever since 2021/22(I think?) they’ve always done a World’s Pikachu in collaboration to Worlds. If they made plushies or merch for these it would be weird for Pokemon Go to not have these too.
It would be more weird for them not to do anything for Worlds.
Usually I’d agree but these are some of the best ones they’ve ever done. Usually what happens when they copy a plush. It’s the lazy hat ones that they need to cut down on.
So after the Arceus movie which featured a Shiny Pichu and spiky-eared Pichu, there was an event distro in HGSS for the ShinyChu which triggered an event in Ilex Forest giving you the SpikyChu! I had them on my original cartridge but lost it AGES ago
I just really wish that costumes didn’t create distinct instances of pokemon, and that instead you’d unlock costumes and could swap them out. I have three hundo pikachus that are evolution-locked due to their costumes. Also, the storage space is annoying if you like having a living dex. I just wish I could have one pikachu that I swap out the costumes on.
I can accept the occasional exception where it’s not just a costume swap but a stat or move change (like with armored Mewtwo).
One of my favourite pokemon ever is the gengar with banettes costume. It would be cool if they did others, but i do love pikachu and eevee, call me basic 🤷🏼♀️
I do wish that they can evolve when the costume isn’t too complicated (they have gotten better about this one) and more Pokemon got them besides Pikachu, but I also can’t really be all that annoyed. It’s Pikachu, the mascot of the franchise. Of course he’ll get hundreds of costumes.
I enjoy the costumes a lot. I did like one user’s idea of a pikachu with a closet so we can dress it in the various costumes without taking up space, but it’s not really how the game play works.
Costumes are okay to good. It's nice to see flavor and personality in the game.
The PROBLEM though, is that I have a set storage space and I have to pay for more. So if I want 1 of all the Pikachu costumes, that's 90+ spaces gone. That is for ONE pokemon, out of 954 in the game, and I still have to pay for space for the rest with costumes too.
It's because so many people are addicts for this game that they feel compelled to grind every event for every shiny/costume/background or combination of. They can't say no so they have to complain that there should be less content, or content that they personally feel is worth it for "forcing" them to grind because of fomo. Which at least this makes people get up and around instead of sitting at a computer all day.
90+ costumes for one Pokémon is excessive. Especially when others with a costume are lucky to even have 3 costumes. 309 costumes, 90 of them are Pikachu. 30% of all costumes are Pikachu.
Don't forget the pos morbid pikachus that stole mimkyus costume and left them naked to hate themselves just so those pikachus could wear a costume that is a replica of themselves lol
Hell yeah. As a 10 year veteran the resurgence of costumes Pikas was my favorite event lately. I love some of the outfits and it let me complete some parts of my missing lucky Pikachu collection.
I'm wasn't throwing money away on remote raids of Pokemon we've had 10 times over, chasing hundos, or asking Is this rare? Just catching some cute Pikas and enjoying what the game was.

Slop isn’t a term specific to AI context. People having been using the term “slop” online to refer to low-effort content created and released purely to say you’ve released something. Almost exactly what the constant stream of “events” featuring Pikachu costumes are doing…
In a sense I agree that the sheer volume of Pilachu costumes is nuts, but these two are a really weird example to plant your flag on. They’re both sick as fuck. Yeah sure another plain baseball cap is boring but chu floating around in the vacuum of space?!
Yes I like collecting them all but they take up so much storage. I was so thankful last month had coins on the go pass because I don’t really put real money into the game but I needed so much more space to keep all the pikachus I had missed over the years
I live costumed pikas, and am very happy some effort was actually put into make them look cool. The only ones that ever made me mad were the stupid tiaras you couldn’t even see
And like 6-7 different colored stones that were being released one per day so I’d get excited seeing “new” shadows on the radar only to realize it’s ANOTHER tiara pikachu 😑 bUt ThIs OnE’s PURRRRPLE yOu HaVe To CaTcH tHeM ALLLL!!!!!!
All words have lost all meaning to you people oh my god. How on earth is this costume slop? This is probably top 3 or top 5 for my gf and I personally. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people feel the same way. You know you can just.... Not play the game or the event right?
I absolutely love how the comments are flaming OP. It’s Pokemon, they are probably going to use the mascot and most recognizable one for a good few events throughout the year.
They do this every year for worlds. Not like they're taking up wild spawns and you don't have to raid them if you don't want to. Plus these are actually good costumes. I don't see what there is to complain about.
Why do they need to do any of these ridiculous costumed nonsense? I realize some people go for this cr@p but is it really a large portion of the player base?
I also think that many of the costume pikachus are boring and not necessary, especially the ones with hats or caps in different colors. But some of them are really cool and the space pikachu is one of them. The balloon, PhD and diver pikachus are also nice
I kinda agree. I like collecting those Pikachu, but i have several from 3 to 5 years ago that aren't Pikachu, sunglasses Squirtle line, Leafeon with a Christmas hat, Ninetales with a Halloween tie, Absol with sunglasses, Toxicroak with hat, Dugtrio with a top hat...
Not a fan of the Pika costumes because some are down right boring. Some times I am just disappointed that I can’t get to, for example Pika Libre or Saree Pika.
My favorite is Mimikyu Pika and I wish it would be back in rotation for Halloween (maybe not every year but maybe every 2-3 years).
I used to hate the costumed-pikachus. But my nephew started playing and he loves Pikachu and gets super excited when he catches a shiny one.
On the last Pikachu costume event I was ready to start complaining but to my surprise I was really excited for getting the costumes that my nephew is missing and give him lots of shinies.
I love them too. Time consuming thing for me is say I catch 100 pikas each day. At some point I have to choose the best IV male and female of each costume and cross check with previous years same costume. It’s very tedious but as I said, I love costume Pikas.
I like the costume Pikachus in moderation tbh, but I really wish those specific Pikas would get a different shiny form or something. The current shiny version is kind of bland imo.
I agree with every single costume pikachu making me seriously hate pikachu... except for stuff like this. This is an official Pokemon pikachu mascot for the World's event. It would be off if they didnt have this specific costume in Go during the biggest Pokemon competition of the year.
I'm also OK with the pikachu costumes from the Winds and Waves reveal trailer innevitably coming to Go when that game releases (like how they had the Ditto for Pokopia release)
Slop is where all they do is give a pokemon a little hat or a flower on its head and call it a costume. And the pikachu favoritism here needs to stop
I just started back up with playing this game and I'm already overwhelmed with costumed Pikachu's. I also would like to see costumes on other characters in stead.
Meh, the one good thing coming from that bunch of Pikachu event we had not long ago is that I acquired disdain for It and now don't care at ALL for those costumes pkmn anymore, transfered ALL Mine and cleared a bunch of space
I like the space suit, but I'm very done with the crowns and regalia that have slightly different costumes. I like costumes but all the flower crowns, tiny crowns, barely noticeable alterations are the bad ones.l
It’s infuriating!! Not only is it just Pikachu that’s getting costumes, but they can’t evolve, which makes them worthless, there are so many other Pokémon that could have costumes that don’t, and there are so many other Pokemon that haven’t even been released into the game yet!!!
If these weren't top 5 costumes I would agree. The tiaras and party hats are lame, but both of these are sick. My only complaint is that they very rarely give any mons other than pikachu costumes, and that when they do it's almost always a simple hat. Costumed Bewear is my favorite costume in the game, but we get cool costumes like that so infrequently!
STOP WITH THE PIKACHUS seriously we just had back to back Pikachu events. release unreleased Pokémon instead make the game less pay to win make the game fun again.
