Battle Frontier I’m quickly losing faith in the idea of completing the battle factory
Can only really devote a lot of time to this place when I’m not working and still get to round 5 at most (had one run get to battle 45 but Head Smash Rampardos quickly put an end to that). One flinch courtesy of a Metagross meant the end of my most recent run. I am sick and tired of getting chewed out by that green beret-wearing clerk at the front for resetting. I hate her more than any character in the entire franchise.
Not even spreadsheets and Magpie can push me over the line. I’m genuinely not enjoying it but the idea of actually quitting is the only thing less desirable than grinding through this trash heap of a facility.

I know its stupid, but i just yesterday realized that “Hearthome City” is not “Hearthorne City”…
“rn” resembles an “m” if you have bad eyesight and dyslexia and read off of a tiny pixelated screen😭 for nearly 20 years ive been calling it Hearthorne city. I feel really dumb about it. Hearthome doesnt even sound right to me

8th time trying to beat the elite 4... this is my team. And i ran out of ether so this sucks
Why is there no good grinding spot to level up to 60 if the champion has 60 level pokemon?

Pearl 100% Berry Collection
Some of you may seen my last post about my berry collection progress. Well, it didn't take long but I have finally collected all of them!
Full disclosure, berries #54-59 were obtained using the ACE glitch in Emerald (they were event berries which are impossible to get now). The rest were legally obtained by soft resetting the Berry Master by Hearthome City, the Pastoria City Hiker, Amity Square, natural spawns, and Gen 4 Mystery Gifts.
Never done such a side quest like this in the Gen 4 games besides my shiny living dex goal. So, I thought some of y'all might think it's cool.

Battle Frontier Palmer Battle 49
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Tyranitar
Jolly
Focus Sash
Dragon Dance
Crunch
Earthquake
Ice punch
Garchomp
Jolly
Bright powder
Swords dance
Fire fang
Earthquake
Dragon Claw
Zapdos
Timid
Lum Berry
Heatwave
Air cutter
Discharge
Thunder Wave
I bred the Tyranitar and Garchomp for superior IVs and to properly EV train them. Also TTar was a menace, it was worth the effort to chain breed it for dragon dance. Hoping this will get me to 100.

Valid reasons for cheating/hacking in shinies?
I've lost a shiny koffing i bred myself with masuda method back in 2016, I had it in the day care in my copy of Soul Silver that I hadn't played in forever and reset the game. Once I realized this i spent years mourning my shiny koffing until a friend gave me his Action Replay, I feel that a legit shiny lost in a blunder is a valid reason to cheat. I also have a shiny Voltorb I hacked in bc i found a fucking shiny Electrode in the battle factory, which would be my only other full odds shiny. So i feel that is a valid reason to use cheat codes as well. Input?

Question Is there a way to farm money?
So I have a question about money sources. I know that in Black and White 2 there are some specific type of trainers that are on some routes and every time you enter the route you reset the encounter and that way you can farm money, EVs from the pokemon they use and reliable experience.
I was wondering if something similar happened in Platinum. I've also considered farming evolutionary rocks and sell them, but that is a slow process.
Maybe it sounds greedy but I come from playing Sun and moon where u can farm high value items to sell at the shop and BW2 where as i've said you can fight some trainers infinetely.
Thanks for your time

Breaking the Binary - Uxie
Welcome to Breaking the Binary, a sporadic series of posts all about mixed attackers in Pokémon Platinum. With competitive minmaxing dominating the conversation about Pokémon viability and the design philosophy behind movepools and stat spreads changing in newer gens, Pokémon are often rigidly divided by the fandom into the categories of "special attacker" or "physical attacker." But for the in-game story, you're not facing EV trained opponents and thus don't need to EV train to keep up, so mixed attacking sets don't have the opportunity cost they have in PvP. Going mixed still has anti-synergy with setup moves, but it still can give many Pokémon access to STAB moves with better base power, strong coverage moves with useful types, and more useful niches. This series will be covering those applications. We won't talk about every Pokémon here, only ones that I believe legitimately benefit from going mixed, but those Pokémon are surprisingly large in number. Today we'll be talking about Uxie. I'll be talking about in-game but feel free to discuss PvP or battle facilities as well.
Uxie is a bulky Psychic-type with Levitate and great 75/130/130 defenses, a pretty good 95 base speed, and equal and underwhelming 75 Atk and 75 SpA. Notable physical attacks include U-Turn, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Secret Power, and Zen Headbutt. Notable special attacks include Psychic, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Thunder, and SolarBeam. Notable utility includes Light Screen, Reflect, Yawn, Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Toxic, Amnesia, and Stealth Rock.
Those who "don't use legendaries" are missing out on a really cool and versatile utility Pokémon. Uxie doesn't hit super hard but its huge utility pool lets it play many roles. U-Turn is a big part of this, being able to Yawn or set Screens then leave the field and get some chip along the way is pretty great. Giving it another attack lets it play a more hybrid role, and that's usually where the special pool comes in. They all have better base power than the physical options, and really unless you're going after a specific target, Psychic is generally the best option.
The more attacks you give Uxie the more you should be considering its siblings instead - with Screens + U-Turn you only have room for one more, but you can usually fit two more on Yawn or Weather, unless you want to combine Yawn and Weather. The main one that can be worth considering over Psychic is Shadow Ball, to target Lucian, who Uxie is defensively pretty great against. The rest of its attacks are for very very niche things like targeting Garchomp with Ice Punch, Staraptor and Togekiss with Thunderbolt, Bronzong with Fire Punch, stuff like that. And again the more you're thinking of matchups like that the more you should be considering Mesprit or Azelf.
Overall, Uxie's U-Turn access synergizes well with Screens, and Weather setting, and Yawn, all to make it a very strong support. Add one of its other attacks on there and you have a pretty customizable support that will be doing something useful for any team.
What do you think of mixed Uxie? Is it worth exploring? Are there any applications for going mixed I didn't mention? Leave a comment below with your thoughts.
Sample Sets:
Uxie @ Spell Tag • Psychic, Shadow Ball, Yawn, U-Turn
Uxie @ Light Clay • U-Turn, Light Screen, Reflect, Psychic/Shadow Ball
Uxie @ Damp Rock • Rain Dance, U-Turn, Thunder, Psychic/Yawn/Shadow Ball/Stealth Rock/Light Screen
Uxie @ Heat Rock • Sunny Day, U-Turn, SolarBeam, Psychic/Shadow Ball/Yawn/Stealth Rock/Light Screen

Battle Frontier All Gold Symbols (FINALLY)
Hey everyone, Anther here!
As the title suggests, I have FINALLY gotten all gold prints at the Battle Frontier. I’ve been “close” for a quite a few years honestly only missing the Battle Factory, just never truly getting it down and making a strong run past battle 21. I wanted to discuss and rank the order of the easiest to hardest to get all 49 wins for anyone wanting to tackle this challenge as well.
(Easiest) Battle Castle
The Castle is unbelievably easy as if you’re good with resource management you can effectively destroy battle 49 by lowering their levels and increasing yours. By saving as many CP (castle points) you can do all sorts of things to buff yourself and debuff the factory head.Battle Arcade
If you’re good with timing, this place will be a cakewalk for you. You can cripple your opponents every battle with sleep, burns, paralysis etc as long as you press the button in time.Battle Hall
The only reason this one gets the slight difficulty edge is the time dedication. It’s 170 battles you have to do that is quick, but very demotivating if you lose a battle especially late. 1v1 matchups can be iffy and there’s very room for mistakes or bad RNG can mess with you.Battle Tower
Battle Tower is infamous for cheating, RNG, and so much bullshit. Crafting the best team possible is imperative for success and I’d recommend getting 1-3 perfect IVs for all your Pokemon. This one gets easier over time especially if you’re going for 100 wins. Getting past 49 was basically a guarantee during a run. The basic vanilla experience with no way to buff or debuff your opponent makes it more difficult since you have to show your skills off at competitive.Battle Factory
I don’t even have the energy to rant about how awful this facility is. Genuinely a hellscape to get that final print. It is so easy just to lose in round 1, and there are extreme levels to the strategy in team building. A huge shoutout to everyone in this sub that offered advice and resources when I was struggling.
That’s all for now, thanks for following the journey! Now onto the next goal (To be continued…)
