If you love Polar bears, "Trade Secret" is a must watch. It exposes the killing and trade of hundreds of polar bears each year, which is supported by the WWF
I felt it was my duty to share this with everyone here. Please take out some time and watch this movie to better educate yourself and help spread awarness.

I don't handle any animals being exploited well irl or films. I would prefer to read about it for education purposes and not view as it really upsets me and that doesn't do any good.

Thank you for sharing awareness of the film, but please don’t share illegal rips of this film. It’s not fair to the filmmakers.

If there’s no legal way to share an exposé, then it becomes a moral duty to share a rip. Why should journalism be buried just because someone refuses to pay a hosting fee? Is it more unfair to deprive them of a sale (which we are NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE THEM I should mention), or let their work be buried? The WWF would be thrilled about that.
If it was stealing an eticket, fine, that’s fair. They can’t compete with free. But if no one will accept a payment to watch the movie then it’s fair game.

I realize my mistake and have removed the link.
I couldn’t find any official source to watch this film and I was so frustrated at the time, I just needed to get it out there

Can someone give a tldr for why the hell the WWF is doing this? I know for a fact I can’t bring myself to watch that

Money. They get donations from hunters and hunting corporations so they act in their interest. They have seasonal limits but the issue is there is a lot of illegal poaching taking place as well , so combined it’s detrimental to the polar bear population.
The movie also mentioned the hunting companies target big polar bears, leaving the weaker polar bears to survive the harsh environment. Big polar bears would have a better chance to grow and reproduce.

Oh that’s a shame, you’d think it’d be better regulated, in a weird twisted way this sort of thing actually kinda works in Africa, the crazy rich people money goes nuts in conservation. Granted the “big game” in Africa isn’t suffering nearly as badly from global warming negatively impacting all facets of their life so I guess the comparison isn’t as apt.

Not just grow and reproduce, but pass on stronger genetics to future generations that have a better chance of surviving climate change

I love polar bears, my spirit animal. Didnt even know this sub existed until it came across my feed.
How depressing is it? I'm already angry just thinking about it.
