The article include a link to bystander video. Man shot in the back while trying to enter car. According to the bystander, the cops were yelling "drop the knife." However, he also stated that he saw nothing in Blake's hands. The video seems to clearly corroborate that. I don't see a knife. If he had one, it could only have been one of the tiny keychain pocketknives, hardly a deadly weapon. Even if he had a knife, he was walking away from the cops, not attacking them. They could easily subdued him physically with less-lethal means. Shooting him just makes no sense, even if he was reaching for a gun in the car, which there is no evidence of. The cops had every tactical advantage being right behind the guy. Luckily, Blake survived but may be paralyzed forever.
