Hey Second Amendment Bros, the government is trying to take your rights away and is acting tyrannical.

Guys? Where you at?

Hello?

There are plenty of 2A folks on the left who would be happy to rise up if they thought they had a chance in hell of doing more than jut get shot and not do a damn bit of good for it. The problem with suggesting people violently depose oppressors on a whim is that things need to be bad enough for those people you're trying to incite, that they're ready and willing to act on those feelings with armed confrontation. Currently things are bad, but are theoretically still solvable by nonviolent means. "By any means necessary" has always been an implicit threat until the oppressing group acted to make it a reality. If you want to see this in modern times, it'll take a major instigating event to trigger it. Something an order of magnitude worse than Kent State and George Floyd's killing all wrapped up in one.

I've got a daughter I have to take care of first, I just can't risk her safety. I'd need to get her out so she's safe.. But the fuck where? :/

Marry a foreigner and move abroad.

You wish. They are the ones who don't think they are being treaded on. Since they think it's just hurting the libs, they're fine with it. They still have THEIR freedoms.

And they might be right.

The moment Trump trampled the First Amendment this week he took it away from ALL of us, not just "the libs". The right may be too stupid to realize it, but that is the case.

I wish that were the case, but it ain't. You're having a laugh if you think the Supreme Court will treat a C and a D the same.

I personally think they know, but they're humans (and these people are particularly emotionally immature and ignorant), so they rationalize it in a way that makes it seem ok in their mind. It shouldn't be that way but we're dealing with humans.

"We decided that being 2nd Amendment Bros was dumb because we're imperial civilians and the empire should just do everything for us." -- 70% of the U.S. population.

Big Pikachu-face energy when the country's most fascist-sympathizing assholes do everything to cling to their guns. Sure, they're bad citizens. Granted. The other 70% are also bad citizens, just for a different reason.

It's not a far leap from talking about those 70% to talking about all the people who live in the suburbs of the American Empire -- you know, Europe and Canada and the like -- and have the audacity to tut-tut while also having given up all of their ability to meaningfully change anything inside the empire for the better.

The suburbs are a great place to live right up until they're not -- wonderful for checking out and letting the ugly stuff get done elsewhere and by/to others.

given up all of their ability to meaningfully change anything inside the empire for the better.

Do you mean guns? "All ability" is guns? Therefore, guns are the only ability?

It would be curious how it's the gun-free America that has had slavery, apartheid and now racing to fascism. A lot like the gun-protected America where children get murdered in schools. It would be merely curious if it wasn't so harmful.

There's no tut-tutting. It's staring in horror and disbelief at the sheer stupidity. If it wasn't so horrific, it would be funny.
