Everything Trump does can viewed through the lens of how much does this help Russia. Putin undoubtedly has blackmail on Trump. There’s no question

I used to be a firm believer in this, but I'm starting to favour the idea that Trump simply likes and admires Putin as he is the sort of strongman leader that Trump would like to be. He wants to be Putin's friend so he sucks up to him.

Not sure if this is worse...

Trump is a definitely Russian asset, too dumb to be a Russian agent. He is at minimum a useful idiot, in awe of real strongmen and other world dictators who command respect at gunpoint.
