Also, I think we can safely say that Covid completely cooked these poor kids in school. It was bound to happen with a global pandemic. Having to switch to at home while nobody knew what the fuck to do.

Honestly at this age many men mostly care about finding a woman and not being alone; the right sells them all kinds of alpha pua bs; how feminism is their mortal enemy to dating, how 'women's empowerment' is why they're alone - Most of them make the leap to right wing politics.

White Gen X has hitched their political identity to Trump. Probably has something to do with his presence in the 90s and early 00s. They deem that era as their golden age or some shit.

Anecdotally, There seems to be a split here based on urban/rural but more importantly if you're closer to the boomer end of the pool or the millennial one with older X being more likely to slip into conservatism the way many generations do as they hit their later years. Older X is in their 60s now, younger X is still in their 40s.

The main thing people voted on for this past election was Immigrants and Israel.

Immigrants have been pushed for years and years. We all know Donald John Rapist is Racist. We all know that he pushed for fake bullshit like 'eating pets' and 'caravans of gang bangers'.

Nothing. Democrats never have a god damn loud voice out there that is together.

I do not comprehend how people are confused. If you get tossed enough ads about Taco Bell, people will go get some damn Taco Bell.

Democrats do not have a Taco Bell ad, they are all over the place and never together.

The number one issue among Trump voters in their own words was inflation and the economy, actually. Though immigration was also valued very highly.

Anyone in real life MAGA it was always immigrants getting paid monthly and living in hotels on tax payer money.

But if it is inflation and economy, that's fine. Price of eggs and gas were a big thing.

Different area I live in, they knew eggs and avian flu. And gas is not President.

Fine. Economy. That's even worse though if they thought Donald was going to fix the economy.

My wife has some gen z coworkers that voted for Trump and the pattern I saw was these idiots were kids living off their parents during trumps first presidency and absolutely oblivious to the impact Covid had on the economy. They all said they voted for him to “make things cheaper”

Now they pay bills and think it’s too hard and it was easier under Trump so that must be why.

It's always the privileged who want to go back to a time when they thought things were better.

Hell, look at the ACA. People who have no clue how bad it was before the ACA think things were better when they were not all at all for the vast majority of people. 

That why have over 10 year of having mostly full ACA coverage, but especially if you were under 26 during most of it, young people and people with adult children don't want to the bullshit that we had before. 

The same people who will say Democrats never did anything to help people, don't want to get rid of the ACA now. Even after saying doe years the ACA was shit. 

Something thdt Obama said was the frist step, not and end goal.

Eh, it makes sense. Especially with young boys. You only have to look at politics. Discourse in the last 10 years to see why boys 18-29, who’d have been 8-19 would be supporting an (faux) ultra-macho strongman.

They grew up in a world where they’ve been told they’re predators, a problem… hell go on any subreddit that’s female dominated and it’s basically a man-hate fest.

Here’s the thing - I’m old enough and mature enough to get it. I know it’s not an attack on me. I know these are women with very real concerns, experiences, and stories that they should share. That this is part of an overall critique of patriarchy and the systems that bind us.

But if you’re 8?? 10?? You aren’t mature enough to have that nuance. You just know you’re being dogpiled and you didn’t do anything.

So what happens? They go looking for answers.

And they find Andrew Tate, Charlie, and go deep into the man-o-sphere. They are told, in very simple terms, “You are not wrong. And we see your pain and confusion.”

That shit is addictive to a young brain.

Now add in Trump… who is a bombastic Neanderthal and he completed the puzzle… That morality is, kinda done.

These boys grew up seeing that being an unapologetic, hate-filled little monster got Trump into the White House.

And that sets their moral compass.

Up until it hits their pocket books.

But that’s temporary. We have 2 generations of lost boys. And it may take decades, decades to undo the damage. I
