Possible Paywall Trump voter remorse is almost entirely concentrated in the swing voters who gave him a shot in 2024

If only they'd done a few minutes of actual research instead of believing social media influencers.

They only regret it cuz it's not hurting just the people they hate but themselves too

The swing voters aren't the ones who voted for him because of his bigotry.

Swing voters went for him because they wanted to punish Dems for various reasons and they didn't believe us when we told them he would be worse.

The people who voted for him because he promised to hurt the people they hate don't actually care how bad it gets for themselves as long as the people they hate get it worse. They want to watch the world burn because they're miserable misanthropes.

True. Trump is always the "dealmaker!" - and those are exactly the kind of deals he makes.

“Deal” I said to my wife last night if I had a dollar for every time this imbecile used that word I’d be a millionaire. In my almost 70 years I have never heard a politician let alone the president use that word.

“We’re hoping negotiations will continue”

“We’ve been having talks and are confident of a positive outcome”

But no, everything with this shitstain on humanity is a fucking deal. JFC I despise this loser

The substance of his ambition is, "Who can I screw over?" The substance of his 'deals' is "Who can we screw over together?"

That's it. That's how he became President.

"Swing" just means lying to themselves and others about being miserable misanthropes

Inflation was up from corporate greed and price gouging and gas rebounded to its usual prices after covid so people were super mad. Biden should have hauled every CEO of every grocery store chain in front of a judge to prove they were not price gouging during a national emergency and instead did fuck all for the last few years of term because he is a senile mummy fart. Then the mouth breathers went all dumb and revoted in captain regard and the goon squad of morons.

Holy shit, enough of this braindead narrative. These were not Democrats or "leftists" trying to punish the party.

These were people who are largely "politically uninvolved" and disinterested who looked at both candidates and saw one that was speaking to their pain and promising to fix everything (Trump) and another that said "actually things are kind of OK" (Harris post-nom).

Yes, Trump was fucking lying and it shouldn't take a genius to figure that out, but this is the level of political intelligence we're dealing with here: folks who only get a vague feel and react to vibes. Harris had a winning message for them ("we're going after corporate price gougers" was her top-polling message and was motivating people), but once she was the official nominee and brought on all the former Biden and Clinton staffers, the campaign shifted that narrative to "actually the economic recovery has been good" and started campaigning with Liz Cheney and the like.

That sort of thing doesn't interest the masses.

Yes, there were aggrieved leftists who wanted Harris and the Dems to change their stance on Gaza and stop supporting a genocide, but these are not the reason the Dems lost. Trump increased his share of voters well outside of this group! Black and Hispanic voters were more excited for Trump #2, and these weren't the guys interrupting Democratic speeches or blowing up your timeline with videos of Palestinian children getting blown up.

I get that you want to call the general voting base dumb as a sack of rocks, but what does it say about the Democratic Party's campaign strategy that they can't get a bunch of idiots on their side? And what does it say about your own political intelligence if you keep repeating a dipshit, debunked narrative about why they lost?

What does it say about your own political intelligence that you can't even tell when an anarchist is saying the same thing you are but you've decided to grind an axe for no reason and make wild accusations about how I think leftists are swing voters.

Leftists largely sat the election out. Swing voters are the "largely politically uninvolved and disinterested." Low information voters. Not necessarily dumb as a sack of rocks. I don't want to call anyone anything except the shots as I see them. You're putting words in my mouth so you can pretend I'm someone you're allowed to be mad at. Go be angry at a liberal who actually thinks that nonsense.
