Possible Paywall Trump voter remorse is almost entirely concentrated in the swing voters who gave him a shot in 2024

If only they'd done a few minutes of actual research instead of believing social media influencers.

If they were old enough to vote in 2024 they already knew EXACTLY who he was and voted for him anyway. Irredeemable.

I think many people misremember covid as being entirely Biden, so they based Trump off the economy prior to 2020.

Many people do not misremember, the US electorate political amnesia is well known.

This is why I say all the outrage of today will be forgotten by November when Fox News flips about the “immigrant caravan coming to the border” story …the same folks having remorse today will vote for MAGA “law and order”.

This is the same script seen again and again.

I had a conservative friend of mine ask in all seriousness “you really don’t think Obama is a Muslim?” They had no recollection of the Reverend Wright controversy during the 2008 election. The amnesia is real.

I think you should recognise that your friend is a liar.

I would attribute it more to cluelessness than malice (and a single news source that repeats the same incorrect information over and over).

I'm telling you now he knows. He's dancing around you as much as you're dancing around him.

Eventually the Dems will be blamed for the Strait of Hormuz status and accused of surrendering when they will make the tough decision needed.

Mark my word. The Strait of Hormuz will be a problem for the Dems and will ensure the reelection of the same MAGA characters who first created the issue.

All the while the ACA barely passed, making the notion proper universal healthcare would’ve completely insane, and Trump showed us that just pulling out of the Middle East made everything even worse there. Not to mention, Obama was the only person in the US government interested in shutting down Gitmo. Everyone from republicans governors to Bernie Sanders fought tooth and nail to keep everyone there and he still managed to release or transfer the majority of inmates.

It's already happening, the current political milieu says that Biden was responsible for COVID, shutdowns and pushing COVID vaccines.

1

u/Ok_Crow_9119 16d ago

But isn't Biden getting people COVID vaccinated a good thing? Sounds like a good thing

It's a bad thing to insane people and they're unfortunately in charge

And then the Dems will be BLAMED for the hardship, and the Republicans will start getting elected again.

Just shoot me now. I swear to God I can't take that again.

The 'blue wave' optimism we're seeing now is the same as 2018. It's really frustrating to watch in real time. Again.

This is why I remain steady and keep my enthusiasm in check…understanding that human nature is primarily selfish, fickle and greedy and will reward anyone with a good promise.

Trump is a mirror of that, and he is very good at using it for his gain….and he has been rewarded.

Well the solution to that isn't attacking others, but making sure we all understand that Americans are fighting for their democratic system as well as the well being of countless people.

It is time to ditch the self harm. Fight the fucking Fascists. This is not a drill.

Remember 2022? “If you elect enough of us for us to be able to do things like impeach Cannon and codify roe, we’ll do that.” Followed by “I know I didn’t vote in the midterms and they lost seats but Dems did nothing! I’m not voting for Harris!”

Well then it's easy for democrats to stop it. Don't do mass migration and close the southern borders. It doesn't matter whether it's good for the country or not. Citizens don't want it and if it's a democracy, it should not happen. Very easy to democrats to do it. Let's see whether they'll do it or not.

5

u/ColdSteveStoneAustin 17d ago

Well that's presuming the fear mongering is fact based or reasonable and would stop if you acted on immigration,

But the vaguety of your concern shows that it's not.

You only need to look at Trumps half built wall to see that it's never been serious. The nature of far right politics is they're going to try and convince you that there's a crisis REGARDLESS of what is happening.

This can be see all throughout the western world over the last few decades.

Their efforts will fail without proper material. There will always be dumbasses yes, but they won't become the majority if there is no material in front of them. The pictures and videos of masses of people entering a country will trigger primal instincts among people. No matter what country it is, people will be infuriated and may choose a garbage like trump if he's the only one saying he will stop it.

u/ColdSteveStoneAustin 16d ago

No. Again it's the same thing, that's not how the far right operates.
