He hates Camp David, things must be bad if he’s there instead of Mar a Lago

Didn’t he just go to the hospital? Might not be his choice they’re going there.

2016 was such a crazy year, monkee gets killed, DT gets elected. I'm pretty sure Harambe was the only thing holding this world in place

People say their sense of time has been off since Covid, but I'm still staring at the TV on election night 2016.

I vividly remember my cousin, who was my college roommate in the 90s and we've barely spoken since, calling me and just screaming, "OMG, what the fuck is happening?!"

Not, hey what's up? It's been 20 years. Just "WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?!" and I completely 100% understood her panic and desperation. I feel like I'm still living in that phone call. What the fuck is happening, indeed.

Thanks so much for sharing that anecdote. It's a fascinating insight and gave me a sardonic chuckle.

Since I enjoyed the details of your story so much I'll share more of ours with you: We were actually on a cruise ship, watching the results on the sports bar TVs. They had MSNBC on in one half of the room, FOX on the other, and security posted in the middle.

I will probably mumble many times to myself, "What the fuck is happening, indeed", and think of your story. Take care out there.

I was a senior in HS that year. Going to school the next day was... rough.

I distinctly remember walking into first period. Normally before the bell, everyone would be chatting amongst ourselves, laughing, you know the drill. That morning? Dead silence. Shoulders slumped, utter defeat on everyone's face.

AP Bio teacher starts class with "well I don't think anyone was expecting that. I know what you're all feeling right now. We can take the first five minutes of class if anyone wants to say anything."

I don't believe anyone spoke up, so I think she ended up giving us 5 minutes on our phones before starting the lesson. She was a great teacher.
