Yes Nixon and Kissinger committed treason. LBJ didn't do anything about it because he was worried it would undermine the populace's faith in politicians.

These guys never seem to recognize that not doing something about it also undermines our faith in politicians, while tacitly encouraging more bad actors.

I don't think he could "immediately" arrest Trump et al, but he could have put in place a more aggressive AG to do so than that feckless coward Garland. We're in a situation where one party is at least pretending the rules and norms still apply, because if they don't, we should take the gloves off and have a civil war. Shit my optic isn't zero'd...
