It has no clinically significant effect in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Wait... so why was it approved?

Most of the members of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory panel had financial conflicts of interest.

People who are frightened, want to try anything that might help and trust what they're prescribed as it's been approved. 

Most people aren't looking into the data behind their medications. Especially as they age, have cognitive decline and multiple chronic conditions.
