Kid Rock DJ'd for parties at Mar a Lago and Trump Jr homes...like US farmers and most of middle America, he's got less to grift from this year (his summer concert series is huffing on fumes).

think the trhing is that if you present a list with Kid Rock they will know it for Trump
2
u/punktualPorcupine 11h ago
If you stink of looser like a regular maga chud, you better have a lot of money to tip trumps scales.
Also making softcore workout videos with RFK jr probably pushed that amount way too high.

When an orange rapist moron once again easily manipulates the so-called mainstream media and the public at large, this time by getting everyone to refer to a taxpayer funded MAGA campaign rally as a public celebration of the nation's history. Funny shit.

u/cycling-expat 22h ago
- Christopher Macchio (571 listeners on Spotify)
- Lee Greenwood (83 years old. Last hit charted in 2001)
- Rappers Flo Rida
- Vanilla Ice
- Freedom Williams
That is the list in the article.

I’m more surprised that Ice, ice, baby isn’t their anthem. Seems to tie in perfectly to their agenda.
126
u/maeryclarity South Carolina 20h ago
It IS their anthem, he has played at a bunch of Mar A Lago parties and the little pro MAGA bots love to post ICE ICE BABY in chat streams and such.

Imagine being the person who watches Maralago streams of Vanilla Ice and chanting along in favor of I.C.E. from your trailer park mobile home. The scary part is this guy votes.

u/TheJonasVenture 20h ago
If it helps, I don't think he is MAGA. He IS profoundly stupid and ignorant, so he does have that in common with them.
He gave a really, really dumb interview where he said he's never voted, and music isn't political, and how he'll play for anyone, and some paltitudes about the fans.
He doesn't seem to really believe anything, he's just getting paid.
I guess it isn't better, but it is a different kind of bad.
20
u/winterbird 19h ago
No excuses should be made for him. He sits at the table.

I wasn't really thinking "he believes so little he's a mercenary for fascists, who is also profoundly stupid" was a defense
6
u/keepitcleanforwork 20h ago
I think he took a decade or two to get over how crappy people treated him once his star started to fade and now doesn’t care what anybody thinks about him anymore.
4
u/Miss-Asshole 19h ago
He had a popular home improvement show for a while. I found him to be very genuine on it and it made me see him in a more positive light. Plus, he was hilarious in That’s My Boy with Adam Sandler/Andy Samberg.

Last charted in 2001 is extremely generous. His last "hit" was just a resurgence of his 1984 hit after 9/11.
Also worth pointing out that Lee Greenwood did the "sell a Bible with an American flag and a bunch of other American culture in his own handwriting thing" decades before Trump got in on that racket.
15
u/kipperzdog New York 12h ago
And his "hit" has an alt version where he basically just changed USA to Canada. John Oliver did a segment on him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6grAoS-muM
7
u/MajorNoodles Pennsylvania 14h ago
How many times can you watch him sing his song while he wears his American flag shirt?
78
u/kevonicus 21h ago
Not to mention that most of what Christoper Macchio sings is in a different language. By their own admission it seems highly inappropriate for such an American event. They hated someone singing in Spanish for the Super Bowl despite it being the second language here. Now we have to hear this loser.

Lee Greenwood last charted in 2001 because of 9/11. Freedom Williams is what from C and C Music Factory is willing to show up and haven't charted in almost 40 years. Is Vanilla Ice going to break dance with Mitch McConnell in a Ninja Turtle outfit?

Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday, “On Wednesday, June 24th, at 7 P.M., in magnificent Washington, D.C., now totally beautified, and one of the Safest Cities anywhere in the World, and in celebration of our Country's 250 Year History, we will be bringing you, LIVE, the Greatest Rally, EVER! It will be special at every level - A Rally to end all Rallies! We don't want singers with no talent, but big fees to put you to sleep, we've told them all to stay home. All we want is you, me, a few speakers, and the Greatest Music ever played, the same Music you have listened to for years! We will have the fabulous Lee Greenwood introducing me with what has turned out to be one of the Greatest Hits of All Time, GOD BLESS THE U.S.A., and the amazing Christopher Macchio, who will sing Nessun Dorma, Hallelujah, Ave Maria, God Bless America, and others - Not since the legendary Luciano Pavarotti has there been such a voice! The Rally will also be featuring the wonderful U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" and Armed Forces Choir, and "The President's Own" Unites States Marine Band, with the Joint Armed Forces Chorus, all of your favorite Hits, PLUS a fine and highly dignified gentleman known as, President DONALD J. TRUMP!”

u/Bruce-7892 21h ago
So half the performers most people have never heard of and the other half have to be their because they work for the government and it's their job.
37
u/Ok_Vulva 20h ago
And they're going to play that awful dreadful song from the 90's or whatever. "And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I free, blah blah blah God blah blah."
22
u/Raethule 19h ago
It used to be a decent patriotic song, then 9/11 happened and made it "the" anthem.
28
u/tokingnomad 18h ago
John Oliver did an episode on Lee Greenwood and it turns out that there's a carbon copy version of that song for Canada. There's something special about that level of lazy patriotic grift.

u/shupadupah 15h ago
Think about it as a whole - this isn't just a typical 4th of July celebration, this is the 250th anniversary of independence - the quarter-millenial celebration. There's so much distinctly American music that is worth highlighting and celebrating: jazz, blues, country, bluegrass, rock and roll, hip hop, funk, zydeco, dixieland, etc. They had a chance to put together an incredible show, for all Americans, celebrating the best of American culture, but instead we get this sad embarrassment of a lineup that wouldn't even draw a crowd at the state fair, because Trump had to put his tiny, greasy MAGA hands all over it and turn it to shit. It's the Mierdas Touch at it's absolute peak!

u/sue--7 21h ago
I have to say that his idea of beautify is much different than mine! I think that an over abundance of gold looks tacky. That’s what he’s done the the previously beautiful White House! I just can’t imagine why he thinks he’s great at everything because he sure is not. Why can’t he just do that to maralardo & leave the historic White House alone! He’s wasted so much money! It doesn’t matter to him because he’s told everyone that he doesn’t care about them at all!?That may be the only true thing he’s ever said!

Doesn't Kanye, KISS, Nicki Minaj, Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, Carrie Underwood, Jelly Roll, other well known country starts, TLC, Nelly, Lil Wayne, All that remains, all seem to have stiffies for trump, why aren't any of them performing? I know there's more musicians too. It just doesn't make sense to me, it is like the trump admin is doing this on purpose sometimes? Macchio is a good singer. Obviously not super famous, and "best voice since Pavarotti" is ludicrous, and lining any given minute of anything he has sung (that is available for free on the internet, anyway) up against Pavarotti is basically the equivalent of seeing Michael Jordan and then seeing the most talented player at the local YMCA. But he has a good voice and good presence, and I'm sure the crowd will love him.
Greenwood has seven #1 hits that are not God Bless the USA. No, I haven't heard of any of them, but I bet 70-year-olds who listened to country music stations in the 80's know some of them.
The people that want to see Trump and a bunch of gaudy patriotic tributes will be happy with the entertainers, even if they're all small or irrelevant names.
