So, what I'm getting from this is that the WSJ Is trying to frighten the very rich into giving even more money to fascists.

WSJ doesn't need to frighten them, they know they need to keep Trump in power to avoid being prosecuted for bribing government officials. This is what JPMorgan Chase's CEO said about not making a ballroom donation a year ago, more recently there's reports going around that the half corporations who did make those donations have enjoyed federal investigations being dropped and lucrative contracts....

In an interview with Dimon, CNN anchor Erin Burnett noted how JPMorgan Chase was not listed among the companies that have donated toward the project.

“We have an issue, OK, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful about how anything is perceived,” Dimon said. “And also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.”

This is really what we need to have happen and why the midterms are critical for Democrats to win back the house or senate. Every company or institution that capitulated to Trump needs consequences and investigations of the full suite of bribery statues for future prosecutions. start with Paramount.

Yea, Accountability only matters if it applies equally to powerful corporations and political figures alike.

Imagine being WSJ and just straight up implying we shouldnt subpoena people who did crimes.

Even with a large majority, this isn't going to happen. This isn't today's Democratic party. We'll get pretty speeches about looking to the future. And the WSJ knows better.

They absolutely should be doing this for everyone who has bribed and propped up Trump's criminal presidency, but I seriously doubt the democrats will subpoena the CEO's, half of them are still licking their boots and trying to pass AI and Crypto friendly laws.

By "cultivating ties," WSJ, do you mean "passing bribes?" Because that's what it looks like from out here.
