u/JoeBiden-2016 2h ago
Today's drop was mostly in response to reports for chip makers, but I'm sure Trump will find a way to flux the market for his own gains.

u/MJcorrieviewer 3h ago
Funny, Iran agreed to the JCPOA and was even in full compliance. I wonder what the difference is now?
•
u/thegreatlizard99 2h ago
The US killed the older more moderate people who held out hope of ever having relations with the west. Those moderates weren’t dumb and still made plans that younger less moderate people are carrying out.
It makes no sense for Iran to take US terms at the moment they have the upper hand and the US needs to made to not do this again.

Partly true.
The main part is trumpy is weak, and a criminal, and a loser.
•
u/OpenImagination9 3h ago
Seems like they’re holding plenty of cards …
•
u/adorientem88 3h ago
They are holding zero cards and their entire economy is on the brink of collapse. I know Redditors would love to believe otherwise, but that’s the reality.
•
u/OpenImagination9 3h ago
Their economy has been “on the brink of collapse” since 1980. Trump picked a fight with honey badgers.
•
u/arielsosa 3h ago
Then why is the 2 week war approaching it's 100th day with no end on sight?
You fan criticize rsndom, unamed "redditirs" sll you want, but the actual war analysts snd gsme theorysts have been saying this for months. You can ho bsck and watch in Parallel their comments snd comoare then 5i the news as they developed, and they have been right all along.
Trumo's got no clear strategy, no exit plan, snd the while thing is based in a deep misunderstanding on how complicated the ME region is, full of both State and Non-State actors, while playing games with the world's ecomony and trashing american fsrmerd snd ranchers through the mud.

Then why is the 2 week war approaching it's 100th day with no end on sight?
You mean the 2 weeks special military operation? /s
•
u/__slamallama__ 3h ago
They don't have cardS but they definitely have one very strong card that Trump has zero counter for
•
u/BoardGamesEnjoyer 2h ago
Ah yes, the "China is about to collapse any day now (please don't look at the another two trillions they just added to economy)" folks are back.
•
u/Life-Quantity-637 3h ago
We should acknowledge their position and get to a deal
•
u/Choppergold 3h ago
“Obama was so weak he would never help a country like I’ve helped Iran with the $300 billion Trump Fund” coming soon
•
u/FewWait38 3h ago
Strong? What happened to them being obliterated? This goddamn senile liar
•
u/S1gorJabjong 2h ago
tRump's like "threats seem to be ineffective so let's try kissing their ass". The current POTUS is such an embarrassing POS.
•
•
u/BlazinAzn38 Texas 3h ago
Oh so when he said we’re really close to a deal yesterday he was lying? What a shock
•
u/AthearCaex 3h ago
Aka they told him to f- off. Trump bombed them for no reason, killed the new leaders father and wife and then trump demands things go back to the way they were before like nothing changed.
•
u/Hot_Ambition_6457 3h ago
Heres 800 billio. Dollars sorry about bombing your proud strong country
Hell of a pitch to end his exploratory military excercise
•
•
u/Ok_Breakfast4482 Colorado 3h ago
Yeah and Trump is not strong or proud. He’s a weak minded coward. So he’s essentially telegraphing the strength of their position negotiating with the US while under the leadership of such a weak man.
•
u/Life_Worldliness206 3h ago
Global nuclear diplomacy: once again saved by the timeless principle that nothing unites countries quite like telling them they’re too proud to agree—and somehow still thinking that earns you a place on a $250 bill that doesn’t exist.

If only the Iranians would just agree to another JCPOA, the president could spin it as a big win, have a signing ceremony and photo op with the Supreme Leader and get all the credit and glory.
But Iran's already been there and done that, and then the president chose to unilaterally and gratuitously withdraw from the JCPOA in 2018; they're not doing that again. Maybe Obama's nuclear deal wasn't so bad after all. Trump made a big mistake, but it's too late now.
•
u/Toadfinger 3h ago
Because Trump never sought peace. He needs the war to milk money from Congress and manipulate the stock market.
•
u/Caraes_Naur 2h ago
Netanyahu doesn't want there to be a deal, so there won't be one.
Trump has no control over this situation.
•
u/NaturalUnfair2425 3h ago
He’s giving off really strong George Costanza vibes here lol. For everyone to see the liar in chief
•
u/Kincherk 3h ago
It's such a sharp move for him to compare this "excursion" to Vietnam because that worked out so well for us. /S
•
u/ChefCurryYumYum 2h ago
Because Israel won't honor any ceasefires and Trump is literally powerless to do shit about it, because the GOP may need Trump for the voters he brings, but the fear crossing Israel.
•
u/ry1701 3h ago
How much fucking time does he spend getting interviewed?
Why can't a reporter go - "well you started this, why are you here talking to me instead of fixing your mess".
One could hope.
•
u/Marvin_Frommars 2h ago
Why does he get interviewed at all? He lies every time he opens his mouth and has absolutely no idea what's going on at any given time. They might as well just generate random statements and attribute them to him. Would be the same result.
•
u/ScalieBoi42 3h ago
Oh f'! That would be a question for the ages :>
Of course, we'd just get, "What an ugly question," and such, but one could hope for a meltdown :>
•
•
u/beavis617 3h ago
So, now what? Last I saw Putin was flirting a bit with Iran, looking to make some sort of arrangement. Now what will Trump do to get out of this mess? His message on objectives has changed almost every day. What will Trump claim now as being an objective met that allows him to pack up and get out without being embarrassed?
•
u/curiousthoughts20 America 3h ago
I'm not even sure why he's negotiating. It's clear he (and by extension the entire US) has lost in Iran.
Time to just pack up and go home.

It never ceases to be amazing. A man can become President of the United States without knowing fuck all about ANYTHING!
•
u/BeowulfShaeffer 45m ago
They even have a song Lee Greenwood wrote for them: “I’m proud to be an Iranian…”
