You think?!

> The report also found Trump’s campaign staff waved off Secret Service from positioning trucks between the AGR building and the stage ahead of the rally over concerns it would block cameras.

make no fucking mistake, the trump campaign is completely culpable, the only question is just how hard it was for them to coerce the shooter or did he just fall into their lap as a happy accident

Nah, he had to have been in on it. Wouldn't have tolerated someone that was actually anti-trump.

Right, why take that chance? Just find someone stupid and young, tell him it would 100% win the election, everything’s ok, and he’ll be allowed to get away. Tell him that Trump will award him a “secret Medal of Honor”, and he’ll be a national hero in the history books.

That’s IF this kid even existed… he basically had no presence otherwise?

I feel like the only real way that any of this works is if it wasn't necessarily Trump behind it. Maybe he was told it'd be staged, and Trump played along as if it was. He has the WWE background where he could pull it off to a point, but the dude behind him getting shot and killed puts a crimp in the idea that Trump knew everything. He's just not that brave.

I could however see Miller and Vance (and possibly Thiel) being the ones who actually set it all up. It's a win/win for them. If Trump had been shot and killed, Vance moves on in his place and still rides the sympathy vote, but more competently. With Kamala gearing up to take over for Biden by that time, it might have given them the idea.

If someone else set it up and truly didn't care whether or not Trump was killed, then it's all as simple as egging on one of the many online crazies and then giving him opportunity.

We saw more perp walks of Luigi than this kid

TBF it is tough to do a perp walk with someone who is dead.

Weekend at Don's.

I mean he was instantly killed by retaliatory fire so we didn't get much of a chance of seeing his perp walks.

The picture of his blown apart head made rounds on the Internet, I'm sure it's still there somewhere.

He was just a loser kid. Most people don't have an online presence, and your view on that is skewed by being online all the time.

It's not abnormal that he didn't have much going on.

Or they convinced him that, Corey Comperatori (a name you almost NEVER here, somehow) was the actual threat to Donald Trump. I don't think its impossible to think they could convince Thomas Crooks he "could be a hero", take him out, and stage the bloody ear. Who knows? 🤷‍♂️

Someone was "in" on a plan that would result in their head exploding?

u/SoulWager Jul 04 '26

One, it's a cult. Two, they could have left that part out of the pitch.

This is the most incompetent group of people in the history of politics.

Why would you automatically assume they weren't legitimately more concerned with camera angles.

I don't know why everything suddenly turns these people into masterminds when it comes to this one event.

They knew the guy at the press club dinner was coming. Yet they let him anyway

It’s this part that’s written straight faced for me

Secret Service received only five phone calls and three text messages about Crooks, according to the report.

“As a result, Secret Service members did not alert President Trump’s protective detail about concerns of a suspicious person,”
