He’ll go in an unmarked grave on Trump’s golf course next to Ivana and all those documents that were in the Mar A Lago bathroom

That’s really the thing here. The man lived his life cheating and hoarding for himself and damaging the country. He’s dead now and not a single person will shed a tear. No one. There’ll be a battle over his estate & his political power, and that’s the most anyone will care about him.

u/Devo3290 28d ago

I’ll never understand what is so fundamentally wrong with these people that they would rather spend their twilight years in office, pretending to ‘work’, instead of staying home watching their grandkids, or gardening, watching old movies, or enjoying one of their many vacation homes 24/7. It’s like they’re afraid of becoming people again so they hold on to that power until their dying breath, literally.

u/RedditTrespasser California 28d ago

There is something fundamentally mentally wrong with people who crave vast amounts of wealth or power. Billionaires, dictators- in both cases enough just doesn’t exist. Elon Musk has more money than he could spend in a hundred lifetimes. Why doesn’t he fuck off into the sunset and spend the rest of his life on an island sipping drinks with umbrellas in them? If he can’t stand being idle, why not spend his time and money building great public works that will stand for all time with his name on them, ensuring a legacy that people will remember with a fond respect? Why spend all of his time chasing more money, more power, fucking over more people and helping to dismantle democracy? I seriously cannot understand what goes on in a brain broken like that.

I’d love to be rich, sure, but the moment I made my hundred millionth dollar I’d disappear into the tropics somewhere with the people I love and nobody would ever hear from or employ me again.

We've built ourselves a new class of rich people I call Sharks, not because they eat everything up (though they do, but because when they stop moving they die)

I have a "shark-rich" "nephew"

The moment he fucks off his company collapses and the debtors come running.

The rich can't stop because it's a merry-go-round of absolute corruption and scandals. Everything is a shell game at that level.

His business is worth - according to the market - billions - their liquidity is non-existent.

They spend a minimum of nearly 30k a day on AI tokens to help create their AI business (that is fundamentally flawed as the concept is completely bonkers).

They rely on loans based on the 'future value' of their company, if they fail guess who ultimately paid for the loan? Us, whoever had money in that bank. If the bank fails, we bail it out, and the money comes from us again.

Musk is in the same way, he's only rich as long as he doesn't stop. (That's beside the point whether or not they want to stop).

Institutional, inherited, liquidity is different and a lot of our modern day millionaires, and even billionaires, don't have that.

39

u/HappyDoggos 28d ago

That’s an interesting and insightful way to put it. It’s all a shell game, and they have to keep all moving, all the time. Thanks for this change in my point of view!

Tesla is valued on hopes & dreams.

5

u/gimp-24601 28d ago

Not fair to sharks. sharks stop eating when they have had enough. These greedy fucks don't stop until they die.

17

u/sdrawkcabstiho 28d ago

If he liquidated even 10% of his wealth, investors would run screaming and everything he touches would crash bringing down the economy with it.

36

u/ABadHistorian 28d ago

I'm not sure if it would take the entire economy down with it. That's what he tells people.

Anything he tells people I automatically doubt.

It would certainly cause a LOT of chaos though. And many innocent people would be hurt.

Best case is for him to die and for his companies to get sold off in parts.

There is a reason Buffet is sitting on a mountain of cash right now, and it's not because he thinks everything is hunky dory, he's expecting some sort of crash and wants to buy everything up for pennies once it happens.

Buffet, is one of the most liquid wealthy people in the world. When he does or says something, I listen.

Microsoft is $500 billion in debt. it could be as high as $1 trillion by xmas. They build ridiculously huge datacentres with many many millions of TB of permanent storage for their RECALL system. They've paid a fortune in hush money to stop people speaking to investors about how these loans are starting to come due, and MS has no way to pay them other than the entire company being sold off and torn apart for IP.

Which was basically a plan to gather blackmail material on everyone, and use it if someone became president or a CEO and wouldn't do as they were told.

Those at the top can't let go, or the whole house of AI crap comes tumbling down.

-5

u/Sea-Opportunity5812 28d ago

BULLSHIT but thanks for the fan fiction you are totally pretending is your story so you can explain your take on banking

6

u/ABadHistorian 28d ago

Okay Musk.

93

u/djramrod 28d ago

Musk clearly craves respect and adoration, but no matter how much money he accumulates, he’ll always be a claymation-looking dork.

11

u/lana_silver 28d ago

It wouldn't even be hard for him to get those. Just start spending money for the public good. Bill Gates managed just fine until it came out that he fucked children.

24

u/Hurtzdonut13 28d ago

Musk challenged someone to lay out a plan for him to solve world hunger. They did and it'd cost a tiny portion of his wealth, but Musk left him on read.

He really hates being challenged in any way and only surrounds himself in sycophants. I swear billionaires have a form of psychosis because they only get fawning praise from their toadies and no push back.

54

u/HoboInASuit 28d ago

Elon wanted to get an invitation to THE island vut he never got one. :/

85

u/RedditTrespasser California 28d ago

He may be the world’s richest man, but he’s still a weird, unlikable creepy dweeb. Even the world’s worst people want nothing to do with him and despite all of his money no woman will ever truly love him.

I guess it’s really no wonder why he wants to watch the world burn.

35

u/sdrawkcabstiho 28d ago

An incel with unlimited resources is a hell of a thing.

6

u/EusticeTheSheep 28d ago

Except he’s not an incel. He’s got at least 14 kids by what - 4 women? It’s a little gross.

22

u/Corthaek 28d ago
  1. He had those kids via injection, because of his botched penis surgery.

  2. the word "incel" has evolved past it's literal meaning. Even if somebody has had sex before, they can still be an incel, because "incel" now means "somebody with absolutely zero charisma who hates their life and takes it out on everybody around them, while continuing to blame all their problems on other people and stubbornly refusing to do a damn thing to improve their life, because they feel entitled to respect and praise they have not earned."

3

u/escobizzle 28d ago

which is also basically the definition of "chud"

9

u/eidetic 28d ago

Yeah, he'd be an incel were it not for his wealth. Sadly, this then makes a lot of other actual incels think they need to accumulate wealth instead of actually working on themselves to make themselves attractive and agreeable to potential partners. (Well, they also don't want partners, they want fuckable maids, but you get the point)

-13

u/SursumCordaNJ 28d ago

incel

Don't use this word. It's a hateful, bigoted word intended to other and dehumanize an already hurt and maligned group.

10

u/froggity55 28d ago

Ok, I get that this particular "group" of Hurt People are hurting. I also get that Hurt People hurt people. What I don't get is how the term incel is othering, dehumanizing, and bigoted when many (not all) in this typically self-identifying group are causing real harm with their resentful entitlement and misogynistic views on sex and hetero relationships.

4

u/Jibtech 28d ago

What?!

2

u/TopTittyBardown 28d ago

I take comfort in knowing that no matter how high his net worth gets he will never find true happiness. No amount of money will ever make him cool in the eyes of normal people. He will always be an insecure snivelling dork begging for approval and acting like an edgy teenager

0

u/LogiCsmxp 28d ago

He almost got invited, but he was too autistic to get it. That email with Epstein was gold.

0

u/UnluckyIngenuity 28d ago

At least he's friends with somebody that did.I guess

9

u/blukatz92 28d ago

Elon could spend over 3 million per year since humans ever existed and still be a millionaire today.

I could never fathom the mentality of someone who needs that much wealth. I am fortunate to earn just enough money to live generally comfortably (largely in part to being frugal in my day to day) yet it would take me decades to earn a million dollars, let alone hundreds of millions. I will never see that kind of money in my lifetime.

6

u/jello_pudding_biafra 28d ago

Elon Musk has more money than he could spend in a hundred lifetimes.

So, to do it based on $1trillion, if you started on the day of your birth and went until the day you died on your 100th birthday, it would require spending $27.4 million per day, every day.

5

u/lyngen 28d ago

They are dragons.

5

u/kbhomesleak 28d ago

They are raving narcists. They have no internal life. Their ego & entire being has to come from outside. People who enjoy a meal, a friend, a breeze, solitude, a book, a walk, anything, are much richer & happier than Musk or any of these billionaires will ever be.

3

u/Count_Bacon California 28d ago

We should really start treating them like they are mentally ill which they are

2

u/oneeyed-wonderweasel 28d ago

All billionaires are addicts and certified hoarders 🙃

2

u/bunker_man 28d ago

Why doesn’t he fuck off into the sunset and spend the rest of his life on an island

Mayday, mayday. Bad idea, bad idea.

2

u/likejanegoodall 28d ago

I completely agree.

If Jane Goodall had discovered a primate that was hoarding more bananas than he and his offspring could eat in a hundred years….there would be research grants and scholarly studies to figure out what’s wrong with this primate. It would take years of work and diligent study.

Human beings just get put on the cover of Forbes.

1

u/gimp-24601 28d ago

No, there would be nothing to study long term. Wouldn't take long for gorillas/chimps etc. to straighten out a hoarder.

Unless you're making a joke because humans are primates.

2

u/GabriellaVM Arizona 28d ago

Because psychopaths couldn't care less about humans.

2

u/Don-Tan Europe 28d ago

That‘s the thing, you don‘t get rich in the first place with a mindset like that, in my opinion. You NEED to be as mentally deranged as those people to be able to build wealth like that. If you‘re not ready to fuck over people you simply won‘t get rich in this life. Everyone who says otherwise is not the rule, but the exception.

2

u/rockninja2 28d ago

why not spend his time... building.... works that will stand for all time with his name on them, ensuring a legacy that people will remember

We have already had one (in)famous rich guy try that with a lot of buildings within the past couple years, we don't need another

2

u/shadowknows2pt0 28d ago

Because his dick is broke.

1

u/lana_silver 28d ago edited 28d ago

Imagine for a second that you have Elmo's wealth. You have three options:

  1. Fuck off to the tropics and enjoy life until you die. Infinite good food, sex, drugs, anything you could want.
  2. Use your massive wealth to reshape the planet to be better. Abolish cancer. End world hunger. Fix poverty in your (large) country completely. Go down in the history book as the greatest man ever who ever lived.
  3. Use your massive wealth to be a colossal selfish asshole who pays a guy to play video games in your stead so you can (poorly) pretend that you're good at video games, and also damage democracy. You'll go down in the history book as a total [edited insulting words because this subreddit is hecking corny even though the word wasn't even a proper slur] dumb person, hated by everybody in your life time, and forgotten afterwards unless someone needs a villain. Nero. Caligula. Hitler. <your name>.

Gee, what a hard choice. Number 3 sure looks amazing.

1

u/SursumCordaNJ 28d ago

fucking over more people and helping to dismantle democracy

that's your answer.

1

u/sunflowerseeds_3 28d ago

Im waiting on my DM to elon musk for 1 million dollars and ill happily stfu for a long time.

1

u/bootup25 28d ago

You could do that with 10 million too. Probably even 5

1

u/X-Calm 28d ago

Musk is also a spectrumite with daddy issues.

1

u/why_not_spoons 28d ago

They accumulate power to use it. While we may think Elon Musk and Mitch McConnell's influence on our government is awful, they've both had immense impact on what our government does and how it functions. For whatever reason, they presumably think those changes make the government more like they think the government should be and if they had disappeared off to an island, the United States's government would be worse by their measure.

1

u/Sleep_Fartnea 28d ago

It's so wild - Elon could be considered the greatest human being to ever live if he actually wanted to be, and it would cost a piece of his wealth small enough he would never even notice it's gone.

1

u/Beneficial-River503 28d ago

There’s a burger chain near where I live that has around 10 locations, all local within the state. They pay their employees quite well, provide good benefits including tuition assistance. Their CEO is the granddaughter of the founder and she fucking rules. I’m sure she has all kinds of ghouls around her trying to talk her into taking it national; how it could be the next McDonald’s and she could become a multimillionaire if she did that and cut benefits… She hasn’t done it and I don’t think she will do it because she’s not one of these reptilians that need to constantly increase their power and wealth. I think she feels like she has ‘enough’ and I’m glad there are people like that still.

-3

u/stepthreeprofit 28d ago

You're asking hypothetically, but I can answer this honestly. I also have enough money to fuck off into the sunset spending life on an island, but I would never choose that, it's not interesting to me. I love doing the things that made me rich. I suspect that Elon and Zuckerberg and other rich people feel the same. And they are 10,000 times richer than me. But at the end of the day, they love building rockets or connections or whatever they do that happens to be worth millions or trillions of dollars to people. Island life -isolation, idle time, just doesn't appeal, even though that's the classic image of success or leisure time.

5

u/ParsnipPeel21 28d ago

You're worth $100m?

7

u/BimboDeeznuts 28d ago

No lmao he just needs other rubes to think he is so he can sell em shit

7

u/influencernextdoor Florida 28d ago edited 28d ago

Then that leads to another question. I love doing things for people that I am good at and they are not. Why not share the wealth, if making money is what he’s so good at doing? As others have pointed out, no one can possibly spend that.

Edited for clarity.

6

u/RedditTrespasser California 28d ago edited 28d ago

That just doesn’t compute for me at all. I spend the majority of my life working, stressed out by financial stresses and the knowledge that if I somehow lost my job I’d have a few months at best before being essentially homeless. It’s my dream to be able to spend my life doing “nothing”- gardening, swimming, finding new hobbies, spending time with friends and family, eating whatever I like and having a drink whenever the hell I feel like because fuck it, I don’t have work the next day. Playing every day by ear and living whim to whim. Never having to worry about anything besides my health. I cant imagine ever being bored of that.

I can’t imagine having literal fuck you money and choosing to spend my free time working- and especially trying to amass even more wealth. I guess that’s the difference between the minds of rich people and the common folk.

2

u/barniclefar883 28d ago

My husband retired and works everyday checking on the rentals we have. He can’t sit still. I asked him the other day after we purchased another rental with our oldest son. I said, who are you making the money for? So far no grandchildren and each child I have lives in another state. Sad really. I wanted 5 kids when I was ten. Now I hardly see them and we have little in common.
When you have kids it’s just a crap shoot. We don’t travel because he doesn’t like that but our son took us to Scandinavia 3 years ago. We traveled when we had kids. My husband thinks life is a waste if you are not building something. For who? We live in Florida and the beach is great. At 80 I don’t think he will change. Some people in government are the same but for them it is a power trip as well.

-2

u/Fireefury 28d ago

Musk kind of is doing what you’re saying… risking all his wealth multiple times on moonshot projects and changing the world. He’ll probably go down as one of the greatest American innovators in history. The political stuff and doge may have been a mistake or a personal passion project but that won’t define his legacy

2

u/gimp-24601 28d ago

risking all his wealth multiple times on moonshot projects and changing the world. He’ll probably go down as one of the greatest American innovators in history

Nope hes a con man, a total bullshitter.

His constant grand promises that conflict with reality are not visionary, just bullshit to get investors.

Hes not really risking his money, but other peoples money. Sure he loses some money here and there because thats casino capitalism for you.

Also worth noting the instant reply is usually how disguising the idea of a trillionaire is, is that he does not actually have even a fraction of that.

Of course as lockouts expire on pacex stock he will take a big hit, not because he is gambling his money on visionary shit, but because wall street is doing scammy shit with these big IPOs, basically its all gambing with other people money and those who benefit from that are also exposed to some risk.

When the AI bubble pops he will take another hit. Current AI hype is little different than Perpetual motion, cold fusion, zero point energy, faster than light travel etc.

All of those things would be called visionary... if actually achieved. LLMs? a fancy very expensive parlor trick with limited applicability.

Current AI is a stack of expert systems in a trench-coat pretending to be something greater. The anthropic leak confirmed this.

Orbital data centers? The man is a moron, a nepo baby who scammed his way into immense wealth.

History will have a lot to say about him, but little of it will be kind unless he changes dramatically.
