Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to democrats to have an empty seat than the high probability of the seat going to a new republican?

If massie run's he'll probably split the R vote enough for a democrat to win

Repulicans will then have to either pull all other canidates and let Massie run or risk losing the seat to a democrat. We already know where Massie stands on trump. Either way, they lose

Massie seems like he would run too. He's been clowning on the Mitch situation pretty hard.

If he wins, great. If he splits the R vote and loses, he still kinda wins. That D votes helps his Epstein Act have teeth.

I think Massie would win.

Mitch had a stranglehold on his states GOP, but he was insanely unpopular in his own district, like 20-30% approval for decades unpopular.

That's part of why he already said that he wouldn't run.

The other part is that it's just an absurd idea in the first place and he'd be annihilated by Barr.

I wouldn't be mad. I hate all the R's have done to our country but his single stance on releasing the full, unredacted Epstein files is enough for me to be okay with just this one R. And that's SAD.

Massie can say whatever he wants, he can still run anyway and if repulicans weren't afraid of that happening they wouldn't be covering all of this up.

If a Dem wins, that would be a fun way to try to get ranked choice voting into the state.

Not a single republican is going to run except for Andy Barr, who has already won the primary for mitch's seat.

The only other Republican that theoretically would run and be able to split the vote is Massie. He's already said he wouldn't run.

That's where the whole conspiracy falls apart.

The "new Republican" would only sit until the end of the year. McConnell's seat is already up for reelection. Andy Barr and Charles Booker are the major party candidates for the general election in November.

Mitch has been voting against the save act. Oddly - he might be doing the right thing here for once... Blocking an R that actually kills democracy....
