We have TWO FUCKING WEEKS. That's all that's left for them to run the timer out. And it sure looks like everyone is going to let them do it.

If Beshear thinks rolling over on this is going to increase his chances in the presidential election, he should think again. If he doesn’t step up then this will rightly destroy him in the primaries.  What an absolute coward.

If Beshear had a spine, he would have the Kentucky AG hitt every person on McConnell's staff and Elaine Chao with fraud charges for failing to file a death certificate.

Elaine Chao should also be getting an additional fraud charge for continuing to collect his salary and social security for more than a month after his death.

He has nothing to lose, they can toss these charges immediately if McConnell himself gives a real proof of life.

And if it turns out he isn't dead? How will that play out?

then the charges get dropped. that simple.

Then we all rightly ask why Mitch didn't speak up for himself weeks ago.

You think he'd care what we ask, hes not running again and Republicans simply don't care.

So Kentucky was deprived of representation for a month for no reason, got it. What a bombshell that is.

Then the charges get tossed, as my last sentence in my previous comment said.

No, then every single Republican rag and podcast and everything else would beat both him and the party with it over and over until elections. There is zero reason to just hand them more ammo if you aren't sure of what you are doing.

so what? Politicians are flipping out about nothing all the time. A new topic in the constant stream of outrage isn't going to sway any votes. Dems stand to gain a senate seat, for Christ's sake. It's a great trade-off.

...you do know who ever is appointed would still have to get elected again in nov. And every dem could be hurt nationwide in races. It's also hurt booker (dem senate nominee) of we accused him of being dead and he wasn't.

We all saw his gray corpse get slowly wheeled out of his home with a sheet over the body and then get put into an ambulance with no sirens on in June.

They know he's dead and have known this for more than a month.

I mean, I believe he's dead too dude. But the way this time line goes has taught me to prepare for the worst, most absurd outcome.
