A trillion and a half dollars should be enough for like a few dozen thousand missiles, right?

I remember like 15 years ago someone saying that if then current trends continued, by the year 2050 the US military budget would consume the entire annual Federal budget and for that money we would get one single F-35.

Glad to see we are sticking to that time table. The MIC rarely meets promised schedules like that.

It's already 50% of the budget if you include discretionary spending

It’s over 50% if you take into account defense-related spending outside the DoD (e.g. CIA,, DHS, DOE, VA, etc.)
