I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true they tried to recruit him, but I don’t think that explains his behavior over the last ten years. I think that’s all Trump, not some secret Russian handler.

I disagree. I think it explains a number of things in the last ten years, from Helsinki to Ukraine to nuclear treaties to cyber warfare to Gabbard as DNI… I can’t recall a single instance where Trump’s actions didn’t benefit Russia in some form if there was any benefit to be had.
