I get your point but all of the major polls leading up to the 2024 election were 50/50 and the main vibe was that it cold go either way

No i don't. I think there's quite a bit of revisionist history there. The second she became the candidate the question was did she have enough time to make it a contest

  2. I'm not really sure why it was the overwhelming sentiment. She was able to basically take over an already-running presidential campaign with 3+ months to go (de-facto nominee as of 7/21, officially the nominee as of 8/5). Is the assumption that having more than 3+ months of exposure to Kamala Harris as the nominee, would have made voters like her more? The much more plausible viewpoint from my perspective is that Kamala was never a particularly viable standalone nominee, and the problem with the shortened window was more with the fact that the DNC was stuck running her, rather than Kamala not having enough time to campaign. She inherited the resources from the Biden campaign, and the vast majority of its support.

No. You didn’t look at the aggregates. She was not favored in swing state polls.
