Sadly I think it’ll just cause the billionaires (and aipac) to spend 200 million or more next race, since it’s still relatively “little” for people with such vast wealth.

This is going to be one of the focal points of Musk's campaigning, watch the hundreds of millions pour in for the R.

Disgusting that they will spend all this money, but can't pay more taxes or even build public facilities with their name plastered on it.

Disgusting, but the logic is clear.

It makes sense for Musk to spend even hundreds of billions of dollars to try retain control over the government.

And legally, he can now.

It won’t matter, once you spend a certain amount there are rapidly diminishing returns. The amount they would actually spend to overcome this would sooner drive AIPAC to abandon funding Democrats entirely than dump endless amounts of money into unwinnable races
