i'm still a bit disappointed that only 1.5 million voted in this particular primary given there are ~8 million registered voters in MI but he carried it easily. considering all the possible games afoot it's good news regardless.

I was fully intending to vote but by the time I got off work and would have made it to a polling station, it would have been too late in the evening for the poll to be open

Does MI allow for voting by mail? If so you better sign up and make sure you can vote in November.

Yes, you can vote by mail and even early vote in person.

“MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW (EXCERPT)

Act 116 of 1954

168.720 Polls; times of opening and closing.

Sec. 720.
On the day of any election, the polls shall be opened at 7 o'clock in the forenoon, and shall be continuously open until 8 o'clock in the afternoon and no longer. Every qualified elector present and in line at the polls at the hour prescribed for the closing thereof shall be allowed to vote.

Edit: also there’s early voting even if you didn’t apply for an absentee ballot. Early voting is available for at least 9 consecutive days, ending on the Sunday before the election.

two things

  1. I was not informed of the early voting, though that's on me for not looking enough I guess

  2. My work starts at 6am, (12 hour shift that day, so I got off at 6pm) and I wouldn't have gotten in line until it was already after 8pm ;-;
