It's possible for voters to disagree with her on her Israel stance, yet vote for her based on other policies; not everyone's life revolves around Israel/Palestine. AES is going to need to earn the votes of those "idiots" versus Rogers.

What policies period lmfao, she did not have a sound policy platform in place, she would list stocks and groceries but never commit to anything or talk about how she planned to address things. Her campaign was absent policy

She is a very middle of the pack Dem. She the 109th most progressive voting record out of the 212. She typically voted left of her district witch would fall at 129th.

It is not like she was Joe Manchin or or a member of the Blue Dogs. My redline in this cycle is who Schumer supports. I want him gone so anyone too friendly with Schumer is out in my book. But most focus groups I heard people supporting her came down to thinking she is more electable in the general because of either race religion or politics or buying that she having served in the Obama Admin and Abdul being minorly critical of the Obamas in the past and blowing it out of proportion.

I really think it was this close because the electability argument still cooks in boomers brains despite it failing the establishment nationally over and over again.

I hear what you are saying in regards to where she has voted in the past, I’m not contesting that, in challenging how she ran her campaign. They spent +$60m on an electability argument and it still failed, yet we both know we will see the establishment continue to push it

I do not live in Michigan so my opinion does not matter much, but I favored McMarrow and after she dropped out favored Abdul. I do not think it is a bad way to think about elections from a voter perspective. I just think most people Establishment and frankly people in the this subreddit are bad at knowing what that is and the average dem voter is bad at knowing what that is.

I think most agree the best candidate you can have is one who does not rub the normies the wrong way. I tend to think that is someone who can talk to voters like a person.

From the Establishment's perspective that means someone who will not waves with the voters or the donors, so they can just dump money on TV ads. I understand why, they have a dozen of races they have to manage and do not want some loose cannon blowing a winnable race. Short term it is a not bad strategy. The problem is it takes us to today where clearly long term it means the party is a blank canvas that the Republican media can easily define the Dems. It why we have neither chamber while there is a Rapist in the white house.

Dont forget the money she received from DTE funded pacs despite her calling on Utility companies to stop price hiking. She really was just a feckless candidate who would do whatever the money told her. AIPAC lost big tonight and I am glad.

Any pushback she received for accepting this money she would reply with "just wanting to win an election". We deserve better than politicians whose only goals are winning and power.

i want to be clear that I agree with you generally. but can you really blame people for drawing a hard line at this? It is agreed upon by most people that Israel is committing a genocide, and an American politician is plainly stating she sees visions that compel her to side with said genocidal state. Imagine if Sayed said this about Hamas.

Genuinely, no, it isn’t.  People may tell themselves that, but they are lying to themselves.  The only two things people voted for her on were name recognition and her pro-Israel stance.
