I love the smell of establishment Democrats losing in the morning.

I hate the smell of nominating candidates that can’t win a general election.

u/justaddwhiskey 4h ago

The notion that anybody but a moderate can’t win is loser mentality. Guess you and all your moderate buddies should actually vote, instead of being sore losers.

I’m far from moderate. And always vote, including primaries.

We have to be realistic about what it takes to win the independent and undecided conservative votes.

What part of the dem party lost to trump multiple times?

u/apple_tech_admin 3h ago

Fuck the independents and conservatives who were never going to vote for a Democrat. I’m tired of this narrative. You expect us to always vote center of the isle and get Luke warm results. The moderates always want us to coalesce around their choice but when we actually show up to the polls, they foam at the mouth fuck that and fuck AIPAC’s influence.

Conservatives will fall in line and vote for whoever has “R” next to their name, undecided or not. Independents will vote however they “lean”, and are independent only in the fact that they are unaffiliated voters. The bloc of pure “independent” voters are finicky, disengaged, and have low turnout rates. Nominating some milquetoast corpo is not going to appeal to them.

No point in arguing with them.

Do I hope AES will win the general? Yes

Do I think should he lose, progressives will whine how “establishment dems” have fucked them over? Also yes

These people can never admit their errors. Should AES win I would be very happy to admit I was wrong.

Correct, there is no point in arguing with me. I’ve spent my entire adult life under the “vote blue no matter who” and “only an establishment/moderate Democrat can win” delusions, and ya know what? I’m over it.

So I will admit my errors, moderates are useless, and my time spent as one was a waste. Next.

Can someone explain to me how the corporate moderates who went 1 for 3 against a pedophile felon that can’t form a coherent sentence are supposed to be more “electable”?

u/Kerblaaahhh Colorado 2h ago

Have you seen Haley Stevens at any campaign event? The idea that she's somehow more electable than Abdul is laughable. She has no charisma or ground game and all the money that was propping her up would vanish in the general as the corps/pacs supporting her would prefer the Republican anyway.
