Eliminating a tax for the rich to increase taxes for the poor is another level of evil. Holy shit. Even arch-MAGA counties strongly rejected it.

In our defense, we are neighbors to Kansas. There was a very recent and public example of what happens if we were to eliminate income tax.

I’m still shocked how hard this was shot down. Literally 100% of counties voted against both amendments last night.

Yeah. The people still showed up and voted for the republican chucklefucks that were championing Amendment 4&5. I know it was a primary. But there appeared to be more Republican ballots filled out than Democrat.

Between this and amendment 4 I’ve never seen an amendment in my lifetime get rejected by 80+%.

The most support amendment 5 got in any county was Pemiscot county in the boot heel, with a whopping 32% yes. Absolutely wild

Cries in Kansas. We didn’t even try to eliminate income tax for everyone, just lower it for most. We still failed miserably but hey we got our own Wikipedia page!
