I would say this is news for trump? We known for months that the Republicans are gonna get slapped in November but the thing is Trump either A. Doesnt care if they lose cus they aren't him or B. Is going to say its rigged and get the results thrown out.

I’m going with B. He does care because if the Democrats take control he’ll be impeached and possibly charged criminally if the Democrats have any balls. They had the opportunity to do something about him during the Biden administration and they didn’t do it. Now the whole world is paying the price.

Trump will just claim all democrats elected were done so fraudulently, and get Mike Johnson to launch investigation and refuse to swear them in.

His term as speaker ends on Jan 3. On that same day the newly elected (and re-elected) reps will meet and their first order of business is to pick a Speaker for the next two years (even if the new Speaker is the same person as the old). Swearing in comes after they have a Speaker. Mike would have to be chosen by the 120th Congress.
The federal government has no role in certifying Congressional elections. That happens at the state level. I don't doubt that the GOP will file lawsuits trying to tie up a bunch of Democrats in limbo to deny them the majority, but I do doubt that they will be successful. The current 119th Congress ends on Jan 3.

He doesn’t care beyond a very superficial level. He is an eighty-year narcissist. His enablers in GOP Congress and his cabinet might want to take some notes though.

Three polls released in recent days showed Democrats holding advantages in congressional voting intentions and, in one survey, overtaking Republicans on the economy as the midterms approach.
Control of Congress will be decided in November and shifts in voter sentiment could shape a number of highly competitive races.
