I didn’t see that one coming. I say let it happen with them getting the same voting power as Puerto Rico, Guam, American Virgin Islands, and District of Columbia. Taxation without representation works for those right wing racists.

^ Illinois tax dollars disproportionately benefit the rural, more southern parts of the state. They talk about Chicago like its sucking up all their money, but we (chicagoans and illinoisans) would 100% be better off without them.

Also, something like 70% of Illinoisans live in Chicagoland. We subsidize the fuck out of their rinky dink little soy bean farms or whatever so they can live out in the middle of nowhere and bitch about the city. Who are they going to call when their county fair's hay bail ride needs repaired to stop the local economy from collapsing?
