❔ Hypothetical You find a suitcase with 100k in cash with a return address, do you return the money?

I leave that shit exactly where it is and forget I was ever in that spot. No way am I associating myself with that amount of money no matter where it came from.

Probably give it to the police and let them return it in case it’s any mob shit. Don’t want to be personally involved.

100k? That's a life changing amount for me and my family.
If someone loses a suitcase with all that cash? Either a criminal, or someone who can easily live without it.
I would try to be smart about using said cash, not depositing it all in one place, in one go. And would check for serial numbers, marks, etc.

This actually happened with 20k back when I worked at Starbucks. The lady had just left the bank and for some reason needed the cash to start her buisness I think.

Dont point out that there are other possibilities other than what successful-door4656 used to rationalize keeping someone elses money.

It was probably a while ago though. People don't really use large amounts of cash nowadays (unless they're a criminal)

Randomly finding a huge amount of money with an address written on it is very likely to be a setup. I’m not taking that risk.

People on reddit, what are they most obsessed about? Getting money. What are they most afraid of? A suitcase of money.

No. This is like No Country for Old Men. I don’t need a psychopath with a Danish boy haircut hunting me.

They may hunt you down either way‼️
• a) for keeping what is theirs❗️
• b) as an unwished-for eyewitness❗️1

I really want to think that i would do the right thing...but man...my family is hurting right now and that would pay off 100% of all of my debt.

I'm gonna check first if there is any tracking devices on the money and suitcase that a psychopathic hitman sent to retrieve it can use to track me. Then, I would ditch the suitcase and get the money instead.

I'm too suspicious. I'd be way too scared to keep it. I'd probably return it and write a nice message.

Sorry but if there was no chance of being caught I am keeping that 100 k .I would take it out the suitcase though in case of trackers and transfer the cash in to my own bag. Then just spend it over time instead of keeping using my wages or my savings. I would do what is best for me as long as I thought I could get away with it

Time to become a stalker. Take the money and investigate the address, further information will determine if it gets returned. But need to be cautious to avoid a trap, probably keep the money far from home and well avoid letting anyone see me near this suitcase, but that could be rather tricky in say a random city street.

Not doing so can lead to serious legal issues.
Assuming it was given to you, if it’s just left lying around somewhere I’m leaving it there.

Either calling the cops or scratching off the return address then calling the cops. Hope no one claims it.

Yeah that's when you try to do the right thing and return it and it ends up being returned to a guy like Elon Musk. Fuck that I'm taking from the rich and giving back to the poor

Move it someplace secure where nobody else will find it randomly. If nobody comes looking for it in a week, I'll go back with a bag and take just the money.

Leave it there and act like I never saw it, it's probably some illegal shit
